Do not buy the books until he says when to. Will give you all the answers, watched the movie for 2 of them. After everything he says he will ask "Is this clear?" and only speaks to hear himself. Take notes. He will probably cancel 5 times minimum. He should not be teaching this class. He gives you the answers to the test. Learned absolutely nothing

Cancels class at least once a week it seems. Really unorganized and scattered lectures. Half the time i didn't know what I should write down and what he was just saying to have his voice hear aloud. Study a lot for the midterm and final because that is what makes up the majority of your grade.

Fairly easy and interesting class.. but you must study for the midterm and final since both are pretty tough. Foster is unorganized but helpful if you go to office hours. Cancels class a lot and not a lot of class work. Takes attendance at end of class.

My favorite professor at LMU! I was just taking this as a core requirement but he made me love the subject! Lectures are easy, you watch interesting movies, he is funny and entertaining. Before the tests he gives you study guides and in class will explain anything you ask on them, basically giving you test answers. Easy A, cool guy, TAKE HIM!

From the 1st day he was unorganized. Never gave syllabus. It's pointless to email him for anything because he never responds. Hardly ever used the book. midterm is pretty hard, final is pretty easy. Many days off since he would cancel class! Easy B if you hardly go to class and dont read the book!

Dr. Foster's class has changed my perspective on America. If anything is worth our enormous tuition price, his class is it. It's not the easiest class; but if you're only looking for an easy class then you probably aren't interested in what you'll actually learn. This professor is very insightful, funny, and very interesting. Highly recommended.

overall a pretty chill teacher, really relaxed. not chaotic and overwhelming like alot of other teachers. always there for office hours. a bit confusing and unorganized during lectures, but thats okay. take really good notes beceause thats the final and midterm. also one paper due, paper isnt bad. more like a big observational journal.

pretty chill teacher. hes funny and very friendly. very laid back about class and sometimes just cancels out of the blue, so check yer email before class. one paper with 11 observations about yer topic, a midterm, and a final and thats it. do the reading and youll get an A. dont do it and u will prolly get a B

Foster is truly one of the best teachers I have ever had. I learned SO much about different groups in american culture just by attending class and taking notes. You don't really have to buy the books just go to class, its actually really enjoyable. Not that much outide work except a small project but its really flexible and fun! TAKE HIM!
