I had Dr. Grant for many classes - he just kept teaching what I wanted to learn. He was a good man and a good prof. He didn't mark that hard but nevertheless encouraged and inspired me to push myself and question more deeply than in any other class I had. The work I did with him on Wittgenstein was the most infuriating and exciting I ever did.

I had Dr. Grant for several courses and ended up doing my BA Honours thesis under his supervision. He was gruff, taciturn, and smoked like a chimney, but he was a great prof. RIP

He is extremely old and extremely quiet, but a pretty good teacher. Sometimes it's hard to understand what he's trying to say but his TA Alex S.was great. Marks were based on 3 essays and 2 brief summaries, and were very easy to do. If you could argue a point you got at least a B. Very interesting class.

Awesome prof, awesome class. Best class I took all semester. Don't take it if you hate writing papers, though: You have to write three and they comprise your entire grade. They're all pretty easy, though.

Very interesting class, he is smart and he knows the material like the back of his hand, even if it doesn't exist.

One of the hardest and most challenging classes I've taken(just to wrap my head around the concepts, he was very fair in marking and I got an A). It was also the most rewarding. I would major in this if money were no concern later in life.

One of the best thinkers at the University. He is very smart and coaxes you to think just as hard.

don't let his grumpy appearance and seemingly condescending comments dissuade you. this is a professor that pushes you to think, which is what all professors should do. great class, great prof. just don't try emailing him.

One of the greatest profs to ever set foot in the department. Brilliant and highly knowledgeable. He’ll poke a hole in any theory you propose, but you’ll still walk away with a sweet grade!
