Interesting lectures, very clear with expectations and quizzes. Everything is open-note and open-book, which allows for little stress and lots of learning. Quizzes line up with the lectures, make sure you use the provided outlines/study guides. Online projects are pretty easy and different. Only a few writing assignments. Overall interesting course

Overall good course, each module includes lots of quizzes and occasional activities that can be very time consuming when paired with the long lecture videos and not to mention reading assignments for 3 different books. He does show true knowledge for the course.

Brain K Harvey is my favorite professor at Kent State. Honestly. He is so passionate about what he teaches, he loves his students, and he is just overall truly kind and compassionate. I would highly recommend all of his classes to everyone. His classes tend to be pretty easy, but don't take advantage of that.

If you plan on taking Latin, take it with him. He offers plenty of extra credit and each exam is only worth 10% of your grade, for a total of 40%. He has weekly quizzes, which are a huge help on keeping up with the material, and often says almost exactly what will be on the exams/quizzes. VERY friendly, and explains the history of the Romans too

I have a love/hate relationship with Latin, but Dr. Harvey made it bearable. He's clear with his assignments and extremely helpful. If it wasn't for his help and clear explanations, I probably would have done poorly. Take Dr. Harvey!

Professor Harvey is so passionate about his teaching. For Roman Ach, If you do the readings (Apuleius is REALLY good) and dedicate an hour a week to assignments, you're getting an A. So fun and SO easy. I went to his office hours and he was so nice and willing to help! One of my favorites at KSU.

I took Professor Harvey's online Roman Achievement class, and REALLY enjoyed it. He took a subject you'd normally find boring and made it actually interesting. The assignments and quizzes are predictable and graded extremely fairly. There are so many points and bonus in this class it's easy to get an A if you do the work.

I took Dr. Harvey's class online, my first ever online class. I was a little nervous. Dr. Harvey was extremely helpful with the material and even assisted with technical issues. I was impressed with, not only, his knowledge of the subject matter but with his willingness to help out in any way possible. Great class. Interesting material.

1 of my favorite classes ever! About the culture, not history, so the material wasn't hard and his lectures were interesting, w/ lots of pics. He's funny too (ex: his lecture on Roman sexuality was optional in case any of us wanted to stay "innocent") Tests are based on primary sources (so read) and basic info you'll know just from attending class
