BEWARE AT ALL COSTS. Many people said the hated this class before I even took it. Do not take if you do not have too. Gives little to no credit. Would never him take if I could go back. Could careless about his students.

Comment:

Attendance is mandatory, but he is a great professor. Make sure to follow slides rather than the text itself. He is pretty lenient with grading, and prepares you well for the exams, which are the only grades. He is very helpful and doesn't make you feel stupid to ask questions. I've learned the most from this class, and I really enjoy it.

Dr. Huguenard is a very good professor, the class is really hard but if you pay attention and spend a lot of time working on the projects you will learn a whole lot about programming. I came in with no programming experience at all and left feeling pretty confident about it.

He is not very helpful. When he goes over the homework or tests he will show you ways you "could have done it" but they were not mentioned in class. He told us there would be a curve because of one of the exams and reneged on his decision.

Fantastic teacher. I walked in without any programming experience, terrified. I was pleased to discover he is very reasonable, very clear in lecture and expectations, and very helpful. Couldn't ask for more.

He is very clear. Exams are not easy, but he is clear of his expectations. Very brillant man and his lectures are cover most material on the exams. Previous excel experience will help a lot. Be sure to attend class.

Go to class. The material isn't that hard, but he does not give you enough time on the tests. The second test was completely illogical, and when asked, back up the test with an equally illogical answer. Makes it harder than it needs to be, somehow failed the class.

Easy Easy class. Work on your VB projects while he's covering the material in class. He does jump right in but if you have any programming experience you'll do fine. 2nd project takes some time, but just following instructions and start early and you'll do good.

Hugenard is a really smart guy. He knows what he is talking about and really demonstrates his programming experience in the classroom. The problem though, is his lack of ability to explain the material well. He acts like you should already know how to program applications even if you have no prior experience.

Easy class. If you go to class and actually listen to what he says, then you will do well on the tests. Take your laptop to class and follow along. Get past his "you're stupid" feeling when you ask questions and he's a good prof.
