I did not find Professor Byam to be a good teacher. Dynamics is a hard class but he did not clearly explain anything or give many examples. He is very clear on how he is going to grade everything but he is not organized in teaching it. It doesn't matter if you understand, he just cares if he is on track with his lesson plans.

There are five exams including the final. Exams are only four questions and two of the questions from the homework go directly onto the exams, but the other two questions are tough. There are 8 reading quizzes which are tough, but not too bad.

His final was only worth 20 points; messing up a single exam can sink your grade, but it's one less final to study for. He pulled at least one question (out of 4) on every exam from the previous edition of the book, but we were well prepared. He can be goofy, but you will learn Dynamics, and his office door is always open. I recommend him to all.

He's not an ordinary professor. You will see all the problems on the exam from either your notes or homework. He doesn't trick you on anything. He is a strict grader but he is very clear from the beginning how many points are taken off for errors.

You don't get a teacher like him just anywhere. He is an awesome teacher and is completely dedicated to his students. Join Cardinal Formula Racing. You'll get to know him very well and he is a cool guy. It's up to you if you need help but he's always willing to bend over backwards for you. TAKE HIM.
