A very entertaining professor to have. It was exciting going to his class, as he didn't teach verbatim from the textbook. His midterm was difficult as it felt really random what was on it, but we were very well prepared for the final. Only thing I didn't like was watching videos all class occasionally because I came from out of town for his classes

Very interesting lectures. Likes students to think and debate and discuss, and encourages and is respectful of opinions. Helpful in assignments, and gives a lot of examples, so you actually usually do understand what he's teaching. Makes a lot of jokes and is cheerful, and doesn't use confusing terms. A really good prof.

Messy writing, talks too fast, textbook is absolute crap - too detailed, confusing, unnecessary fancy writing.

Jarkko is one of my favorite profs. He is intelligent, open-minded yet very humble. He has amazing public speaking skills, with short & sweet intriguing tangents.

hands down, prof JJ is one of the best profs i've ever had in my 7 semesters here at sfu. i hate taking history courses but psyc207 turned out to be fun, enjoyable, and totally worthwhile -- and i took it during intersession! he's funny, he's smart, he's spontaneous, he's a great teacher. period. oh, and he's totally a fox too. ;-) (is he retired?)

Jarkko is awesome!! i didn't expect i will enjoy this class but it turns out that it was one of the best class i've every had. He is definitely knowlegeable and fun. The text was hard but i managed to get a B without reading the text but focused on his and the ta's notes.

Amazing professor; one of the best I've ever had. He's so passionate about his work that it inspires myself and others. He took a boring class and made it one of my favourites. You won't miss a class because his lectures are so interesting. The text book sucks, but if you take notes and go to tutorials you'll do well.

The midterm was difficult but the final exam was a breeze. Attend all lectures-tutorial seemed to be a waste of time. The textbook was awful so make use of TA notes. However, sometimes the notes the TA supplied weren't that helpful. This was one of my least favourite Psychology courses that I have taken.

Organization could use some work, but he is obviously brilliant. I'd like to see him fight with Mark Blair. Perferably it a battle of wits. Tests and assignments were fair.

I just took the intersession course with him. difficult textbook, but great lectures (very helpful & somewhat clear); the pace was very fast, especially after the midterm. He's a nice guy, and it's great to have him for psyc 207. :)

He is adorable, he definitely loves teaching. He is always there for help. Test materials are base on MC short ans and Essay..not hard at all if you understand all the materials. Interssession class weren't hard at all. He repeat himself often so students can remember it for exams. He is a great professor. Waiting for him to teach 307 next summer
