Bruce is an excellent professor who knows his theory. Only problem is he doesn't use any slide or visuals and talks the entire class without taking much of a break for you to get caught up on copying (no computers allowed either). So if you're a visual learner or a slow writer it's not the best type of class for you. Attendance is a must.

Great lecturer. He brings in lots of examples and really dissects the readings. Of course you still have to do the readings.. and there are a lot.. but they'll end up helping you in future sociology courses.

Great Prof. Glad I had him. In retrospect, I would have gotten more out of his classes with a bit more of maturity under my belt. You have to know that you want to be into social theory to enjoy his passion for it. He is highly demanding, and can be a brutal marker, but otherwise, a memorable professor all the way around. A good guy.

Bruce is one of the smartest people I know. Profs with high standards bother slow or lazy students. It's not the job of professors to make you feel smart or entertain you; it's their job to get you thinking. You can learn from Bruce, if you're willing to work. If you aren't, get out of university.
