Terrible teacher. Whole class was worth 175 points. 75 point final and ten homeworks worth ten points each. He takes off 2-5 points off for each error depending on how hes feeling that day, even when the homework has 20 steps makes sense right? He needs to get off his high horse and realize no one cares about his check in the box class.

He'll help if you ask but I don't think there's any point. The book is terrible. We skipped over a lot of important material. If you understand how to do the HW, you'll do well on the midterm. Easy but you'll learn very little.

Professor Douglass does not actually teach the course. Every class, he plays a DVD of another professor's lectures, rather than teaching the course himself. Students self-grade homework and no feedback is given by Douglass. Assignment instructions are vague and left for interpretation. The only work he does is enter grades.

The work is unclear & some steps don't make sense. Also he asks you to do stuff that you don't learn until the next unit. And there are two finals, not one. There's the first one and when you're done, he hands you another form saying "here's your real final" that is beyond difficult. The textbook helped, but homework doesn't follow it.

I know and use excel daily and had a tough time! I got 100% in my Access class from another teacher even though I rarely use it. His assignments are vague and grading is harsh. Final had material not covered.

His assignments were very unclear and the final was extremely difficult. Most students did not even bother to finish the final because of how difficult it was.

Comment:
As the others said, this professor is very Vague. His instructions are very unclear, and he does not help at all. I don't even see the point in having a book, because none of the lessons he taught were conducive to any of the material. Do not take this course under this instructor, he is useless and lazy.

Comment:
His is lesson plans are recycled from Excel 2003 and are out of date, that is why the wording is confusing. Tutorial 4-1 is a good example. If you check the word doc creation dates, for the instructions, one was as old as 2001 last updated 2007. How are they ready for Excel 2010? I tried to tell him but he never replied to my emails. Good luck.

Don't miss any assignments and make sure you are good at math as he wants math people as coders not designers.

I am almost indifferent to this professor--it was an online 6-week class and everything was already set up without much effort from him, except for grading. I appreciate the organization of each week so it is very clear what needs to be done. But the assignments were often confusing, and the final was surprisingly difficult. Overall easy.

Douglass is a good teacher, yes some stuff he covers extremely fast. You need to be a week ahead in this class if you have questions on the subject he is going to cover. Use his office hours as he tends to be a little behind on e-mails. This is college people, you have to put in the hours if you really want to understand the material and concepts

This class was terrible. The instructions are very vague and he grades harshly. Took a long time to get back to me about a question I had and then marked me down for doing what I thought he wanted us to do! Definitely will not be taking him again.

He is VERY VAGUE, does not reply to emails soon. I needed some help on the assignments and it took him 4 days to get back to me.For an online class that is unacceptable. The FINAL was very hard and most of te stuffy on the final was not covered in class. He doesn't answer your questions clearly. At times he is very rude. Does not want to help.

He is a very nice person. The material are not very clear sometimes and the textbook isn't helpful. The weekly assignments are challenging but doable. The midterm and final are super easy. Professor Douglass has a great personality and is very helpful.

I took the online class and some of his wording is not that straightforward. There was a lot of times when I was not sure what he was asking. I personally would take him again. He grades harshly and tries to mark down points on anything he can. Overall I would advise others not to take him.

Lecture was too fast & hard to understand. In-class practice assignments were hard to follow in the book. The table tools & their locations & functions should have been taught before any assignments were given. I looked forward to taking the class but had to drop because I was totally lost during the 1st class which upset me.

Not sure why some people reviewed him badly...they probably flunked and were mad about it. He is very straightforward, as a computer science teacher should be. The textbook is used alot. This is a technical class, so don't expect a class with alot of flair! Straightforward, and if you attend regularly and study the material, you will do fine.

He gave up on teaching after week 12 and just showed videos. Rarely answers questions, doesn't give complete directions for homework assignments. I will do everything possible to avoid him in the future.
