Eastwood taught some rather difficult topics but all that needed to be done was read the book. he gave us the final exam. he did not seem to interested in being a teacher but the material was rather interesting in the end

I think students have trouble because eastwood has high expectations. Wow, isn't that shocking; you're in college and he actually expects you to learn something. One of the best and smartest profs on campus. Take him if you seriously want to learn something.

The underclassmen are not quite appreciative of his style. He does ramble a tiny bit, but once you get involved in discussion, the real meat of what you are doing is exposed and he is a lot of fun to talk to. He has high expectations, so if you are not interested in working hard, don't bother. For those not scared of a challenge, take his class.

While he obviously knows a lot about what he's talking about, his lectures are really just excercises in him talking to himself. Our class of 50 is now around 12. His tests are essay and incredibly difficult. At the end of class today he more or less admitted to failing to teach this class adequately by saying "I'll never have to teach this again"

I had to drop this class because by mid term I had a D and there was no way I would be able to bring my grade up.I attended every class & did all the reading I didn't do very well in the class. His quizzes were extremely hard & pointless and the essay tests were impossible to do well on. He was very unclear in his lectures and did stay on topic.

Sitting in one of this guys classes either puts me to sleep or gives me strong suicidal thoughts. if you cannot teach yourself the material from the many readings then your screwed. even then he throws something unexpected at you on the tests. he doesnt teach the class, he stands there and rambles to himself mostly. you will either fail or drop out

Didn't seem to have a great deal of interest in the class. Discussions were not well directed. He was helpful in privite conversations and was frequently in his office and always welcoming. While the class wasn't bad, I did hope for more out of it then I received. Grading was perhaps a bit hard.
