Took British History with him. Great Lectures. He's a brilliant old guy with a dry sense of humor. Knows british history like the back of his hand. Just warning the class is almost exclusively about white men. Women (mainly queens) and colonialism is addressed, but with very little depth-- nothing about race or gender. Very littleno discussion.

Kinzer is a god among mortals. Take him for British History (or any class). He is incredibly intelligent, but also humble. Although he is a hard grader, he respects his students and is very helpful in office hours. Do the readings because all papers and exams are based off the books. Kinzer's class my be difficult, but it's absolutely worth it

He knows a lot of stuff... its sorta crazy. but i wish the class had more structure. he just tells it like a story, which some people love. i didnt though because it made it hard to take notes. I learned a lot though, mostly from the readings

Lectures are amazing. Gripping, incredible historical storytelling by Kinzer, who is low-key the dryest, funniest guy on campus. He has about one joke a week but it's unusually worth the wait. He's a hard grader and his papers depend a lot on the texts.

By far the best history professor I've had here at Kenyon. When I say this man knows everything, I mean it. His just encyclopedic knowledge on all things that have to do with the British Empire is so captivating that I couldn't help but stay captivated during his lectures.

Kinzer is one of the most intelligent - yet humble - people I've ever met. He subtly inspires his students to work hard, and his lectures her really interesting. Be prepared for huge research papers in his seminars, but he designs them so that it's never too much work at once. I ended up writing something I'm really proud of. Take his classes.

Kinzer was my favorite professor at Kenyon. I took four classes with him, including History Senior Seminar. His lectures, done from memory, are incredibly organized and usually quite interesting. Kinzer is off the charts intelligent, but in a humble way. And he makes you want to work hard. Wonderful!

Kinzer is by far one of the best professors I've encountered at Kenyon. Attending his class feels a little like sitting around a campfire listening to a story, except the story is brimming with precise names and dates. He keeps it all in his head. The paper topics weren't terribly inspiring, but he does put a lot of effort into grading them.

Kinzer may be the best professor at Kenyon. His British history courses are almost purely lectures, but they're great. His grading is fair, and I think the way he teaches causes students to work hard. I'm pretty sure he curves up a little at the end of the semester. If you mess up an assignment, he'll overlook it if you've worked hard on the rest.

The man!! He gives out a good amount of reading, but its a fair class. There are 4 quizzes (drops lowest) for 10%, 3 papers worth 30%, midterm for 20% and the final for the last 40%. He's a very reasonable grader, and he knows the material like no other. He lectures with only a simple outline on the board and his depth of knowledge is unequaled.

Great professor. Lots of reading (and reading quizes), but for the most part, its interesting and relevant. Gives lectures without notes and tries to keep class interesting. He goes out of his way to learn the names of his students. Helpful during office hours. I highly recommend him.
