Comment:

Great personality, you won't get bored. I did poorly in the class because he knows the subject too well so he goes really fast and hard to keep up. I would take him again because I think he knows what he is doing and he will slow it down for you if you need help, but make sure to ask or he will just move on.

He is a very nice and funny professor, but does not know how to teach. I had to teach myself throughout the semester, also had many tutor appointments to actually understand the material.

Funny guy, keeps lectures interesting, makes it simple to study for the exams, which aren't difficult to begin with. The man gives you a book of all of the slides and really cares about his students. Cases and papers are assigned but they are relatively short. I strongly recommend taking him!

Comment:

I love La Salle because the best professors here could do many other things for a lot more money but love teaching. Dr. Leauby is a sterling example of this. He's one of the best teachers I've had in any subject. He's such a smart, kind and funny man. I cannot say enough great things about him. A true mentor and role model.

Accounting is difficult overall, but Leauby doesn't make it any easier. He's a great guy and amazing as a person, but as a teacher, he wasn't my favorite. He definitely helps if you ask for it. He likes to see improvement so if you fail in the beginning, don't worry. He is definitely willing to work with you. His test are pretty difficult though.

A LOT of extra credit opportunities-take advantage of them! Tests are pretty hard and you have to study to do decent on them. Class is really boring, but its accounting so thats just obvious.

Dr. Leauby makes the 50 minutes fly by. The multiple choice on the tests are kinda hard but he curves the grade so much that you only need a 85 on the tests to get an A. Some homework assignments are given and some quizzes are given as well. But he's a funny guy that makes the subject more amusing. Would take him again.

Managerial accounting is pretty hard but mandatory for all business majors. If you want to do well, take those answer handouts he gives, flip them over, and see if you can do the problem on your own without looking. If you can do it without looking you'll be fine on the test. If you go to office hours he gives you answers to the homework.

Dr. Leauby is the man. If you can get him for ACC 304 (auditing) definitely take him. Leauby usually teaches the class during the spring semester so, if you can, wait until the spring to take the class instead of in the fall. He is like a grandpop so just have conversations with him every so often and he'll love you.

I'm not a morning person but having him at 9AM he has made it enjoyable and interesting. He's a really cool teacher. Very lenient with late homework, but don't make it a habit. He does give out extra-credit so pay attention to those. The exams are not that hard just make sure you follow the blue book that he gives out.

Dr. Leauby is an excellent teacher and a funny, caring man. The syllabus is 2 group exams, 2 individual exams, some quizzes and homework, and a final. Also he includes an optional journal to do every week. The journal is so simple and he brings your final grade up a half-letter (e.g. C to B-, B+ to A). The multiple-choices on the test are hard.
