Sign in sheet makes attendance not mandatory. Lectures are confusing but he tries to make it funny. The tests are all online besides the final. Homework assignments are usually easy too.

Blackwell is a good guy. He's a genius. All tests are offered two times: online (open note) and then in class the following day. Because of this he does not curve. There usually are online homework assignments weekly. He is the head of the department and really knows his stuff. A solid choice. Very accessible outside of class and via email.

He trys to make the lectures relatable to activities and things we do in college, but its still really hard to understand. There are no pluses or minuses. 3 exams were online, but final (40%) is not. the homework is easy if you do it and have the book.

Really cool guy. He goes out of his way to make the class relatable to your lives. He changed his syllabus this semester so that all all exams are online which is easy, except the final isn't online and I feel like we haven't really learned anything. Not the most difficult class but also you just get lectured at and never really know whats going on

If you read the textbook and go to class, this class is not bad at all. He also posts practice tests and his powerpoints online, so tests are easy to study for. He lectures every class, so be prepared for that. You learn a lot in this class and its interesting, so I would recommend.

gives you practice tests for exams, multiple, even! had to pay for online access for micro econ class but worth it and necessary. thats where hw and even couple chapters of text book are. buying text is optional. i didn't, but few ch.s i read were helpful. forgiving and lots of chances. grades on exam are easy questions worth 5, medium 3 and hard 2

I enjoyed this class! You will not pass if you do not read, do the homework and come to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but he covers a lot in class that the book doesn't cover. He also makes his lectures accessible on youtube. He literally gives you everything you need to pass, you just have to apply yourself.

Take him. Attendance not mandatory but encouraged. Helpful lectures, and even more helpful study materials on the Aplia portal. Provides practice exams & questions. Helpful and doable weekly homework assignments. Drops lowest grades. Very quick and helpful responder over email. Incredibly reasonable. All you gotta do is study for the 3 exams.

Blackwell is definitely one of the best professors I've had at this school. Super smart guy and is really passionate about teaching and the subject matter. He gives very clear explanations and makes concepts as simple as possible. Has great slideshows and allows time to take notes/ grasp concepts before moving on. Not a blow off class but take it!

Very difficult course if you do not study regularly, even if you do attend every lecture. Material requires much studying in order to understand. Also, gives out a lot of hw, which can be difficult and take a while to complete. However, he is a very kind prof that is willing to help you. If you are prepared to study a lot then you can prob. do well

Ok so how is it that i got the same grade in Organic Chem and this class? He needs to chill out with his tests and realize that no one with a dream will ever become an econ major. I hated this class when i took it, i hate everything about econ. Thank you professor Blackwell.

Relatable professor. Lectures didn't bore me. Weekly online assignments were rough. Do them early! Don't wait because they can be difficult or lengthy. Tests are multiple choice and can prove very difficult. Post below is correct. Last test average was a D. I got a 102%. Have someone to study and do Aplia with! It's hugely beneficial. Take notes!

This is absolutely the worst professor I have ever had at cofc and i am a rising senior. Aplia will make you SOOO MAD, and if you visit him in office hours he is not helpful at all....The class average on the last test was a D! DO NOT TAKE UNLESS YOU WANT TO HATE YOUR SCHEDULE YOUR WHOLE SEMESTER!

Great professor! Seriously, one of the most helpful professors I have ever had. I am just not an economist so this class was difficult for me. If you work hard, read the book, ask questions, and try not to get angry doing aplia, you will learn a lot and leave his class economically enlightened.

Would absolutely recommend. Very clear explanations. 4 tests and 1 final, final counts for 40%. You will have to study quite a bit for the tests, but class attendance isn't taken (I'd still recommend going--he explains the concepts very well). I would definitely take again! Not hard to to do well if you put some effort in.

Here is how the grading goes, 3 tests worth %15 each, homeworks is %15 (best 25 out of 30) and the final is %40. So lets say you get A on all of them and get a C on the final , you will get a B.

Tests were on subjects discussed in class and could be reitterated through the text book which was helpful. then applying the concepts was taught through aplia which was challenging but very useful. practice tests were what I always studied with. Blackwell was one of my favorite professors so far, straight to the point and he really knows his stuff
