Comment:
Dr. Baskiyar is a super nice and very knowledgeable person. He will go through every small detail and he actually use pen and paper to break things up. His slides contain detail notes for every topic. You have to attend classes to do well in exams. He is extremely fair and cautious in grading and TA put comments on hws. Will definitely take again.

Dr. Baskiyar is a nice guy, but he just doesn't sound interested in what he's teaching. His lectures are very boring and monotone, which makes it difficult to stay focused. If you go to his office hours or talk to him after class though, he always makes an effort to answer whatever questions you may have.

Willing to wait as long as it takes for a student to answer his question because he seems like he genuinely doesn't know what he is talking about. Reads from the slides that the book company produces, doubt he ever changes the hw or tests. I would take someone else 110%.

Slow moving and sporadic lectures. Most assignments are lazily copied with numbers changed from previous years, but often this changed the fundamentals of the question asked. You learn more from the book than anything despite being required to attend lest he gives a pop quiz if no one shows up.

He takes attendance because no one would attend his class otherwise since you can just read the slides yourself to understand the material he is teaching. The homework in his class is incredibly doable, and overall he doesn't expect a lot out of you in his classes. If he was a better lecturer he would be an ideal professor.

The homework design was excellent. The grading was very fair. I liked the examples he gave in class. Baskiyar is a good teacher, but he does not allow laptops in class, which I did not like. Overall, he's a great professor.

Just read the book and do the homework. You won't learn much, if anything, from the lectures, but they are good to keep you on pace. I only went to about half of the classes and was fine

He mumbles, takes attendance, reads off of a powerpoint, speaks okay english, acts insecure, and stumbles through the material. He teaches you what things do rather than why or how they do it. Don't bother asking 'how' or 'why' questions. (he won't answer them) The lecture slides and past book editions are google-able, they're all you need to pass.

After a semester of attending every lecture, I do not know a single thing about programming in assembly that I did not learn from the textbook. Baskiyar spends his lectures repeating information from previous classes while glossing over the content he is supposed to teach and provides no guidance on setting up an environment for testing programs.

I wouldn't recommend taking him but if you do then you will just have to teach yourself. He takes attendance and his lectures are very difficult to pay attention to. Nice guy but I did not enjoy the class to say the least, I just got through it. Very Stupid final exam

Dr. Baskiyar is a very nice guy, but it is clear that he is disconnected from the class. His lectures consisted of him reading from slides. He is generally unclear on what material will be tested on. Not a bad experience, but make sure to know the book.

Comment:
Scatterbrained. Class moves slowly and gets boring at times. Teaching style emphasizes basic principles but then HW/test questions focus on smaller details. Willing to wait several minutes for a student to produce an answer to questions in class rather than answer them himself. Scales. Do a project not a paper.
