Great guy and great professor. Super helpful when you really need him and very funny. Most people giving bad ratings probably did very little to help themselves which is, you know, necessary in college.

Carl is a goof. He's a nice guy and means well, but he's not very good at explaining things and likes to digress on every explanation to stories about his kids or something. Assigns homework blindly that can occasionally take many hours to do. Tells us to look at other teachers online notes, which explain the course a lot better than he does.

Really nice guy. Terrible teacher. Spends a lot of his time telling us stories about his kids and asking us if we want to leave 20 minutes early. What he teaches, what is on the homework, and what is on the exams are on are 3 completely different things. He usually can't even answer questions asked of us on the quiz or homework.

I absolutely hate this class. I like Carl as a person, but as a teacher it just really doesn't work, not for me at least. A single homework assignment can take hours, i.e. 7 -___- You use MyMathLab for homework and quizzes, which is less helpful than a doorknob. The "notes" that we take in class are so scatter-brained that they don't help at all.

The guy is cool, but he doesn't do much in class, leaving you to teach it to yourself basically. He goes on tangents in class all the time and wastes half of it. Very boring otherwise as well. Homework is incredibly tedious and all online, which is set up by the course administrator. because of that, he doesn't even know what problems there are

Love the guy, but horrible teacher. I took calc my senior year and i still failed this class. he is such a sweet guy but so scattered brained and makes no sense. bring your old calc notes and study those. go to lion tutors.

The easiest class I had all semester. No notes, no test even. Just some small projects that involve technology. He talks about some hilarious and crazy stuff thats all interesting, but you may need a cup o coffee if ur tired u may find urself with ur eyes closed.

This class is pretty funny, Carl just speaks about random things and theres no tests or quizzes you don't even have to take notes. Group projects and wiki entries are the only thing you have to worry about. Carl is really funny a great person and a really good teacher this class was very enjoyable.. Cotner for IST 110!!!
