Had this guy for 123, 125, 389, and he is the reason Lehigh's EE's come out knowing their stuff. Teaches the really important things, while breezing over things that you think (at the time) are important. B/C of this oftentimes a frustrating experience, but a great professor by all accounts and a legend.

I spent the whole semester playing Hangman and got an A in the class. It's not really all that hard.. everyone seems to psyche themselves out over it though. And even if you get 30 on a test, it's probably a C. He doesn't really so much 'teach', since he knows the stuff so inside out that he can do most of the problems in his head.

This was the first EE course (in 1980). Dr. Holzinger was one of the best- learned a lot. He used to write so hard and fast on the chalkboard that there would be dust flying. Also just about impossible to walk next to him and carry on a converstion without jogging. Does he still throw things at people who fall asleep?

At his age, he's still very strong and active (carried a overhead projector with 1 hand almost like a bicep curl).great aim, will hit you with chalk if you fall asleep(easy to do). Very hard classes,makes them very boring.Basically a bored multi millionaire video gamer teachin for fun(bad combo)

he'll give you about 3 handouts each lecture, and expects you to spend about 5 hours a day learning the material. that's the only way you'll do well. also, take-home final exams!! you'd THINK that was a good thing! but after 20 hours of Matlab programming, you'll be sorry!

The man is a genius, and a great professor! In an hour he can clarify things that you struggled with for weeks in previous classes! Some of his exams can be tough, but final grades are based on what he thinks you know, which is usually quite generous!

ece 316 is an amazing course. Holzinger presents the material clearly, and manages to both keep me awake and captivated at 8am. Would definately reccomend this course to anyone interested in computer hardware.
