Comment:

Very nice and entertaining professor. Loves Challenging students giving some extra works and probelms. Always willing to help and make things as clear as possible for the class. You can waive final exam to study for your other classes which is pretty cool.

Dr. McCarthy is a solid choice for a math professor. He uses the textbook the entire class period, does not give out homework and attendance isn't mandatory. He likes to curve the exams scores. Very soft spoken, but overall he is a solid choice.

Switched my major and I have to say that Dr. McCarty truly is understanding and does anything he can to help you succeed. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't always the greatest at math, but he did everything he could to assist me. He really is a genius and truly is brilliant.

There are only three tests that are open book and open notes. The tests themselves are not too bad but he gives a huge curve. If you tell him the tests are too hard he makes the next one easier and gives a bigger curve. Take this class and show up, it's an easy A

Class is made up of 3 exams, if you do well on all 3 and like your grade you don't have to take the final. Goes through material fast and speaks very low, very difficult tests but he curves them and lets you use open book/notes. Overall nice guy but if you o need help go to SI.

Good Teacher, he is very helpful in class, but his tests are very difficult. sometimes there are different applications of problems that we did not do in class. That being said he knows what he is talking about and will help you in class. I dont know if he is available for help after class though.

Dr. McCarty is a genius ! he knows what he's talking about but his tests are really hard, he always curves them. even though attendance isn't mandatory, if you go every class he will give you a better grade. Open note tests.

Dr. McCarty was a very nice teacher. He wanted everyone to pass so he curved all the test! I earned a B- in his class and without the curve I would have had a C-. His test were super hard! the problems that he gave us to review were not relevant to what were on this test! However, he is the easiest professor for this class so take him!

This cute old man was very helpful. I missed his class once a week and still did fine. He doesn't take attendance and there wasn't much class participation but if you have a question, don't be afraid to speak up and ask because he will definitely help you understand it better. He truly makes you understand what you are learning.

Dr McCarty is so great that people in the class started referring to him as "Uncle Carl". Uncle Carl is the first math teacher that I ever had that actually knew what he was talking about. Uncle Carl has a better grasp of math than even most Math professors. You will be amazed by his knowledge, and hopefully learn a thing or two from Uncle Carl.

McCarty is the cutest little old man ever. He spends alot of time going over like two problems during class and makes you sleepy. I barely went and I had around a B+ average and I wound up with an A-. He gives you credit for going to the board. He'll walk over and give you a secret code to put on your test for you points. definately take him!

One of the nicest teachers at LaSalle..Always willing to help.. Tests can be a little tricky, but if you participate, he gives you sooo much extra credit. My real average was around a 73, and I wound up with a B+ because of all the extra credit he gave. Definitely take him..

Take him! He is such an awesome teacher. He really loves math and wants his students to understand the material. Material is sorta combined on the test so its a little tough. Definately go to the class- you'll get extra for going and doin group work.
