This was my third semester of Spanish, my first two I did not take him and got an A- and an A. With him I received a B-. He was very inaccessible outside of class and does not respond to emails. Does not explain things and when you ask him a question he just stares at you. He tries to be funny and thats great in a professor he failed as a teacher.

I'm surprised by some of the comments on here. Professor Rodriguez is tough, but if you follow along in class and do the homework and online work, the class shouldn't be an issue. Even if you have never taken Spanish before, his class is pretty straightforward.

This will be a difficult class if you intend to avoid studying. Professor Rodriguez lays out exactly what you need to know for exams so it will be relatively easy to prepare for them. Be sure to participate as that is also a huge component for your final grade. He likes to joke occasionally; he's definitely not a bad person. Please study!

I liked him as a person but as a professor not so much. The tests, attendance and homework are set by the head of the department so you can't get mad at him for that. He was uninspiring and could be a bit mean when you were confused about something. Had some good laughs in that class. Take him, but be diligent and do the online homework.

He's not a mean guy. However he expects you to know a lot and he doesn't waste his time going over stuff that he thinks you should know. Take him if you are comfortable speaking Spanish. He expects everyone to participate and will wait for you to get a question right before he moves on to something else.

I would have to disagree with most students on here. There is no syllabus, however, he is very clear with what he expects. Class participation is highly recommended (it can make a huge difference in your grade). Always available for help after class/e-mail. He does have a sense of humor! Follow him CLOSE in class and take good notes. STUDY!!!!!!

Honestly, I didn't think he was as bad as some of the other comments said. My only complaint is that he is vague with his syllabus and deadlines. Hard teacher, but you will get a good grade if you STUDY. Do NOT take this class if you are not willing to put in any effort. He knows his stuff and will help if you ask -- if you pull your own weight.

Unfotunatley i had hum twice. The 1st time I got the syllabus one month into the semester and the 2nd time i never received it. I cant believe he even received any praise. Twice he was absent the day before exams and instead of canceling class he put another student in class in charge. DO not take this class he an evil man.

His a nice man. Never checks hw, and class attendance is a must or ur grade will go down. Like four quizzes from the reading,midterm,final. His midterm is based on the readings, if you read and do the hw, u will be fine. Just try not to miss class so u wont miss the quizz, there are no make ups.

If you take a little time on your own to study and go to class, its not hard at all. I find the tests easy. He goes over things a lot to make sure students get the concept. Encourages participation from everyone, which helps keep you focused in class.
