This is the most boring teacher i have ever had. She does not seem to care about her job whatsoever. we wrote 4 back to back essays, all of which had boring topics. English is my favorite subject, and she made me hate this class. Highly recommend not taking her class.

I dont know who the fruitcake was that gave her a good review, but it must have been her giving herself a good review. Before this semester, I read her reviews about her being hard & I was like "eh, ill be fine"...nope. tests are ridiculous, speeches graded wayyy too harshly for mostly students that have never been in a speech class before. AVOID!

Makes speech really a lot harder than it should be. I am a student that is really good at speaking and did decently on the tests. However, she gives lots of stupid little assignments like the formal outlines that she grades very strictly and that keeps people from A's. Also, really rude and not the least bit helpful with questions. Don't Take!

Tests are impossible, speechs are not too bad. Follow what she says and you should be ok. Failing a test in this class is not the end of the world but will hurt your grade

Don't take her unless you want to be the idiot that gets a B in speech. Everyone says speech is an easy A well it's def not with her. I don't think she realizes she's teaching a 1000 level gen ed.

Bledsoe is a really nice lady! Definitely a strict grader but if you just follow her outlines you'll be fine. Usually get out of class early, and lectures are interesting. I truly felt confident in public speaking when I left the class!

Take another prof. Exams are terrible! Very specific in exams. you will have to know the book inside and out. I studied 8 hours for the last exam and REWROTE the chapters word for word and still got a 37/40. She also is very picky on your speech topics and you cannot change once you pick. Overall, she made the class seem like a waste of time/money.

The speeches are ok, but the rest of the class is terrible. The tests are impossible. She will have a test that covers six chapter (with twenty pages in each chapter) and ask, "According to Dr. Katt in chap. 4, what is the purpose of speech?" Way to complicated. The notes have nothing to so with the book. Avoid!!!

Way to critical for a gen ed speech class. Speeches along with everything else you do in the class are impossible to get full credit on. The test questions come from all over the place yet she gives no help before them. Don't take!

She's crazy. Lab time is a total waste, we just sat and listened to other kids' speeches the entire time. She doesn't review for tests or anything. She's unfairly picky about speeches too, she took 2 pts (out of 10) off my speech outline because I had Roman numerals instead of letters. Avoid her lab if possible, the lecture's not so bad.

THERE IS HOPE. I failed all of the tests with an average of 50%, but I turned in all but one assignment, did reasonably well on the speeches [A/B], and attended a majority of classes [I missed 7 & she took off points for 5]. I got a C in the course. If you can get out this class, do it, but if not, it's possible to survive.

Not gunna lie this a tough class. However she teaches you a lot and this better prepares you for tests. The test difficult and can be very specific. Be sure to take good notes at the lectures and read the text. try not to miss class and going to office hours never hurts either.

Honestly, try to get out. If you can't: she's hard, but not as bad as everyone says. The tests we take are HORRIBLE -- super specific questions from the book. Just do your best on speeches. Type submission forms and outlines (formal AND planning) in the correct format (copy from the coursepack exactly) and you'll get perfect scores on those.

DROP BEFORE IT"S TOO LATE. If you cant, don't get on her bad side. Answer her questions and suck up, it's the only way to not be attacked. The tests are all about the book, but it's like the for every speech class.

Carol Bledose is a really nice person, but she doesn't put with student's sarcasm. She does nitpick your speeches; but you can earn high grades (not perfect grades) if you follow her specifics which she gives in grave detail. The tests are HARD! Our class average was a 71.8% on the first test, and a 73% on the second test. You have to read the book

I AP tested out of all of my English credits my Freshman year, so I figured taking Speech would be a breeze. Not with Bledsoe. It's like high school in that attendance is mandatory [she takes roll at the beginning of each class] and there's a strict no cell phone policy. The work she assigns, however, is far above a college 1600 course level.

GET OUT NOW! You think I'm kidding, but get out. I don't care if you have to wait another three semesters before your schedule is clear to take SPC. YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING RIGHT. She doesn't give full credit on anything and will nitpick your grade lower and lower until she ultimately divides it by zero and hands you your dignity in a ball shaped sa
