She is literally the worst professor in the Philosophy Department. She downgrades you when you ask questions in regards to tests coming up, she is not helpful at all. She also tricks you into thinking things that will be on the tests/final will be on there but they are NOT on the final. Waste of time studying for nothing. Will NEVER Take her again

Dr. Gould is a terrible professor. The classes I've taken with her have been online, so I don't know what she's like in person, but judging from my virtual conversations with her, she has absolutely no respect for her students. If you ask any questions regarding class material or assignments she will gladly speak to you like you're an idiot.

Dr. Gould is very knowledgeable, however she has no classroom management skills and you almost feel stupid for asking a question in class during the lecture. Very tough grader and literally no room for error, no exceptions. Lectures are long and boring and tend to go off topic in class.

She doesn't follow her own syllabus. Very condescending when she speaks to you, but because she's an older lady, you somehow feel bad if you fight back. Doesn't upload Power Points but still expects you to know the answers on tests. I felt like her grading process was really cruel and extreme. I'll never take her again. She ruined my GPA.

very disorganized teacher. doesn't go by syllabus, grades tough on discussion posts, the whole of your grade is based on papers, and she doesn't give clear instructions on what she wants you to do on your assignments. got 3 textbooks and barely used 1! and i had to PAY to watch assigned movies! getting a response from her is like pulling teeth.

Don't know why I thought this class would be fun. Assignments are easy, but the way she grades things is unclear, which is why I can't rate it as an "Easy A." Even if you do exactly what she asks you to do, she still grades harshly and tells you you made mistakes (when you didn't). Would not take again or recommend anyone to take her.

Doesn't uploaded assignments or links that actually work but still wants you to take a test and do well, vague due dates, zero communication, and takes FOREVER to grade. If you ask for help or extra credit, she can't be bothered. I don't understand why she even bothers teaching. I feel cheated taking this class.

Really bad teacher. Makes you feel like you're garbage and takes forever to grade assignments. I'm an A student, the online class isn't hard, and she still managed to make me feel like a piece of crap. DO NOT TAKE HER. Extremely condescending and not present at all. No extra credit offered. Wasted money on three textbooks we don't even use.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. Thought the special topic would be fun, but she assigned 3 different books, and we have to PAY to rent multiple movies for the class, which was NOT on the syllabus. Never responds to e-mails, and even though class is online, she still called me by a different name! Lazy teacher and not present at all.

The class is difficult, mostly because you are covering a great deal. If you don't do the reading, you'll have no idea what is happening because the lectures are built upon but not a summary of the reading. She is such a sweet woman, I would take her again.

Gould is an extremely confusing and unclear. Her lectures are absolutely horrible and off topic. When grading the tests, she is unclear. She has a review and it is similar to the test however she wont tell you if your answers are right. DONT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ANYTHING

very vague due dates. The due dates on blackboard are outdated , so i found it a little difficult to get organized with this class, which is important for me because im doing other classes and working full time. Theres a lot of reading but i never read all of it. i only read the material that is needed for the blogs and discussions. Few tests.

Gould definitely knows her stuff, but she seemed disorganized and didn't follow the syllabus very well. She assigns study questions that are reflected on the tests, but be aware that her tests are generally short answer responses and only 15 questions each. There's not much room for error, so make sure you really know the material.

Dr. Gould's teaching isn't for everyone, but if you approach her class with an open mind, you'll see she just wants students to think at a higher level. She's good at explaining abstract concepts. Tests are tough but almost exactly from the study guides. A couple blogs that are graded for depth and detail. Great for the student who wants to learn.

She isn't late as often as people say. But her lectures can be boring because it takes her a long time to make a point. She doesn't follow the syllabus so there have been times when I read a ton that didn't even need to, which is annoying. Tests are ok, not too bad. Material is more interesting than she is, but she is knowledgeable about it.

I loved this course. It is a great opportunity to analyze your own thoughts about moral issues as well as a chance to encounter some philosophers' thoughts on controversial ethical dilemmas. The professor was very helpful.

You can learn a lot about philosophy, but this will do you no good on the exams. There were 100 students and 2 got an A. There was no curve on the final and the average was 65%.. Exams are worth 30% of your grade so you can still pass if you do well on the essays (70% of grade) which are graded by TAs (get to know them!!).
