Great professor! VERY SMART MAN. I took the hybrid/Sunday Ecology class and this is what to expect: 10 video summaries on ecology documentaries, 3 open book tests, and a short paper. It sounds hard, but it's not. He is a very fair grader as long as he knows youre putting in the time and effort. I wish I could take more classes with him!

Very great profesor and in generaly a very nice person. His stories were very interesting and he was extremly enthusiastic about students who were interested in his course. All of the questions from his tests were in a set a of printed notes that he gave out. If he doesn't have an answer for your question he will look it up for you.

Amazing teacher! Had him for Microbio, and he was so enthusiastic about the subject. Very nice guy, and really helpful. Tests are pretty hard, so read his notes and the textbook, but he teaches the material really well.

The most endering, enthusiastic, and friendly proffeser i have ever had. Dr.May is truly one of a kind. He presents the lesson with absolute clarity and enthusiasm. he is just a genuine good person.his teaching ability is far above the community colege level. i just wish the students would pay more attention to his lectures. i'll miss you Dr.May!!

His exams are a little tough but if you memorize everything in the handout which is not much then you will be good, make sure to remember the name of all organisms, genus and species and the properties attributed to them. Exams are 50 questions, 35 are multiple choice, 15 short answer (one or two word answers usually name of species).

Prof May was great! I had him for Micro at Hofstra during the summer. If you study from his notes that he gives you and back it up with some information from the chapter, you will do well on the exams! 1 paper which is fairly easy and the lab portion of the class did not feel like lab but actually helped with learning the lecture! Would take again!

this man was one of the nicest professors i have ever had.the class is practically an automatic A if you buy the textbook.he does tend to ramble,and i did fall asleep in his class once,but he is SO nice.definately take this class.he's SO nice and really cares about his students.the downside is that he rambles and can be pretty boring sometimes lol.

Dr. May is without a doubt the most knowledgeable professor at the Nassau Community College biology department. He's very nice, very friendly, very interesting and tries to help you in lab and lecture. Very good with answering questions and teaches you biology. His tests are straightforward if you just read the text with the in-class highlights

Unfortunately I was not able to finish his class but I want to say what a wonderful man he is. In my time of sadness and loss he was there for me and made me feel better. He always came to class with excellent powerpoints and a smile. I thought the class was very challenging but worth it. I now teach science and emulate his methods. Thanks!!

Wonderful experience! He is not at all boring if you are into Ecology. Very fair and the sweetest man ever, he is a gentle soul. Loved his class, wish he had more classes. I will miss this class. You're "The Best" Dr. May...To the NCC Biology Dept..,"Take a lesson from him in humanity", many of you need it.

This guy is such a nice person. One of the nicest I had at Nassau. When I was sick with laryngitis, he let me reschedule my oral report. Most of his tests are open book too. The only thing is that he be a little TOO into science and he tends to ramble but his nice personality makes up for it.

awesome teacher, though it can be hard to stay awake in his class at 8-10:45am. if you read the book you can get an A, if you don't...your grade will suffer a bit. he's very helpful and understanding. all around good teacher.

Dr. May is very nice, but his EXTREME ENTHUSIASM about Ecology (like seriously how excited can you get about mold?) sometimes gets annoying. His tests are pretty much straight outta the textbook- your highlighter will become your best friend in his class. He's a fair grader, and he's very nice.
