I had two classes with Carole, and she really is a great professor. Her lectures are engaging and very inspiring. I could take a class about paint drying if she taught it, and I can tell she really cares about all of her students.

Carole is a great teacher and is willing to work with you, as long as you're willing to work for the class. She's very funny and one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. She has high expectations but it's nothing less of what's typically expected of an Alverno student.

This professor is not accessible. She does not e-mail you back and is not available for office hours. Feedback is untimely, vague, and negative in nature. I expected more inspiration and professionalism from a teacher who is a published author. Her lectures are engaging but self-centered. I wouldn't recommend her if you want to improve as a writer.

I have taken a class with Carole before so I was quite surprised with how this class went. Our class ended WAY to early and a lot of the assignments given were unclear. She also has failed to communicate with us consistently. She has TOO much on her plate. I am actually a bit disappointed considering the kind of teacher that I know she can be.

Has way too much going on to dedicate to teaching. Plays favorites and is known among other professors as being catty. She rides the coat tails of her brother's career and thinks that she's the messiah because of it. She spends more of her time working on her mediocre children's books than grading assignments or paying attention to her students.

I feel that if Carole actually gave herself the proper amount of time she would be a much better professor. She is really scatterbrained, goes off on unrelated tangents, and has a difficult time commanding a classroom. We get that your brother is famous, can you get back to the topic and teach the class now, please? Instructions are unclear.

Carole is by far my favorite teacher. I took a few classes I wouldn't have taken because she was the teacher. She is a wonderful person and great teacher. Her personality and obvious passion make any class of hers amazingly fun.

She is hilarious and spunky and has a different viewpoint on writing and reader since she is a published writer. I had her for two classes back to back because her teaching style really interests the students in their learning.

CAROLE IS AMAZING! I love this professor! I have only had one class with her, much to my regret! I almost changed my major because of her and my AH 150 class. If you can take anything with her DO IT!

This was a distance learning class that didn't work well for this teacher. She was great teaching in person (1st class) but not helpful from a distance. She was not very technically saavy and our homework and lessons were unclear. Feedback was not useful. I do not recommend her as a distance learning teacher!

Carole is a fantastic teacher. I learned more about Latin America from her one class than in my 12+ years of education combined. She has a great approach and good sense of humor, but is tough and has high expectations, which motivates students.
