Dr Woidat is a wonderful professor. Yes there are a lot of papers, but what do you expect, it's an English majors class. A lot of discussions were interesting. Participation does count for your grade, so try to come to class with something to say about the reading. There is a feasible amount of reading due each class with a possible quiz on it too.

Awesome professor. There are essay due every week so get ready to write (it's going to make you a better writer). She seems very passionate for what she does so she is constantly rambling but it's understandable. If you need help go get it. She loves students who ask for help but she also wants you to be able to learn and grow on your own too.

Very passionate about what she's teaching and really cares about students developing as writers, readers and thinkers. She does pile on a lot of reading every night so be prepared for that and to discuss each reading in detail during class. Weekly papers gave responsive feedback and constructive advice on how to improve and get better grades.

I LOVE Woidat - she is funny and a total hippie and is entertaining. That being said, get ready to read. I read, like, 100 pages + a night for her. I enjoy the material, but wish I had more time to actually enjoy it. If you're willing to work hard, this class will be a lot of fun. But it IS hard.

Woidat's text recovery course is difficult but worthwhile. She is a good professor, with experience in editing (which she discusses in the class) so she knows how to guide your project. The class is tough, but so valuable.

This was my first upper-level English class, so I didn't really know what to expect. I think 400's are tough regardless of who you get. I did enjoy Professor Woidat's class despite getting a bad grade (my fault really). She gave great feedback on papers like the rest say. She definitely knows her stuff. Lectures got a little dry sometimes.

Dr. Woidat is fairly dry when she teaches but great outside of class. The class I took was Women's Lit: Captivity Narratives. I had little interest going into the class but she made it interesting enough and was very helpful when I needed it. She likes students that include direct quotes in essays but was still flexible and wanted us to succeed.

Dr. Woidat's class is wonderful. There content is incredibly varied and draws from tons of different sources. Woidat has knowledge in a variety of topics, so the discussions were all great. The way she grades is the best I have encounted; she spends an hour with your paper, and writes an immense amount of helpful and detailed notes.

Honestly I'm not sure why people would find her boring. The only thing I can think of is that if you didnt do the reading, yeah you probably wont be able to appreciate the extremely interesting discussions that go on and will be bored. Very knowledgable, and a really sweet person! She made me actually interested in early American lit

Woidat may be a tough professor, but she's really, really fair. She focuses on improving the quality of not just your understanding, but how you express them: she gives feedback on every written assignment, not just the papers. There is a LOT of reading, but as long as you do it, you should be golden. Outside of class, she's actually really pleasan

She is horrid and grades harshly for a 100 level class. Her lectures are boring. She comes to class with no idea what she really wants to teach for the day. She hands out essay assignments a week before they are due, or forgets they are coming up until she's reminded days before the paper is due by a student. Avoid if you want a decent grade.

Prof. Woidat is dedicated to my learning. I just received my first paper back - filled, and I mean filled with feedback. The whole class' papers were covered with her comments. She spend hours on each paper. Sometimes her lectures aren't very clear and sometimes boring, but I would recommend taking her. Very understanding person, and approachable.

Allows you to focus on what's important in your papers and responses. Is very considerate of what students want to talk about. I prefer her lectures to her tendency to completely let students go off on tangents. I think most people will find that she brings out what is most important in the literature being considered.

A really nice lady but painfully dull. The subject matter and reading material itself is usually pretty interesting though. Not a bad experience just a sleepy one. Oh, and make sure you go to class and do MOST of the readings.

Woidat is NOT touchy-feely; she's reserved. Very helpful outside of class, especially if you take a paper draft to her. Chose awesome books for the class to read. Interrupts too much in class discussions and makes class boring sometimes. Overall, a good professor.

Very sweet, kind. Could smile more, but is really very understanding. I came into the class loathing native american lit-- I still don't like it, but I did have a good time in class. Great professor. Kind, understanding, but not a pushover. Rewards effort... I hope. Very approachable, mothering almost.

She is an excellent teacher, she really cares, she is kind to everyone, even when their ideas don't match up with hers. Shes so darn cute, but despite her touchy feely attitude she won't cut much slack on her papers-she is a fair graders though.
