Dr Barry is super nice and she cares a lot about her students. She has two kids of her own and they are adorable and since I took her Child Development class, she brought them up a lot. She's very accomplished but doesn't take nonsense. Love her though. PY241D is also a service learning and diversity core class!

Dr. Barry is awesome, she is super nice and if you get on her good side she is very accommodating and understanding. She is always in a good mood and passionate about what she teaches. I've had her for two different classes and still remains my favorite teacher. Not an easy A but you will definitely learn and enjoy the class.

The lecture and test aspect of this class is very good. Sometimes the tests questions are a little over-complicated, but their difficulty's not bad. She is a good lecturer and pretty engaging. She's a very nice lady. The only problem with this class is the writing part. While its not a lot (2 papers + in-depth outline), it is stupid and dreadful.

Dr. Barry is extremely nice. For exams, you don't need to study the textbooks. As long as you know your notes, then you're fine. If you're stuck on a paper, she is very willing to help, as long as you put in the effort.

Dr. Barry is great! She is the reason I want to major in Psychology. If you study your notes and her powerpoint the tests are easy.

Nice & sweet woman, but a poor professor. Don't take her for your 1st Psyh course; good chance of deterring you from others. Lectures are among the most unstructured I have experienced & tests do not reflect well on content covered in class. Inconsistent grading & does not seem to follow rubrics. Has a PhD but only researches. Uninformative.

She's very smart and she knows it. Rambles in class and likes to hear herself talk, but can be very helpful if you approach her. The most frustrating thing about this class and her in general is her study guides are TERRIBLY structured, often skip sections, no discernible order and not descriptive. Powerpoints are nearly worthless too.

Barry's tests are pretty tough, so you need to know your stuff in and out. She's funny because she's so uptight and you can tell she used to be a nerd back in the day. Attend class because alot of the notes aren't on the powerpt. Easy B but hard A.

class discussion is third grade, tests are grad school. makes everyone present a part of the chapter, which means she just doesnt want to do it. changed my mind about being a psych major after taking her class.

Tests are challenging. Don't even think of contradicting her (ie, test questions) I think she has an inferiority complex when it comes to being a know-it-all. Class is generally engaging, her notes are so wordy and involved you're better off taking your own.

Don't let the way she presents the notes fool you. Her tests are incredibly hard, bordering on unfair. She's a nice woman, but she makes class boring and it's frustrating when you study and find the tests still difficult.

she is really nice and really likes what she does but grades way to hard for the way she teaches. It's really her tests that hurt you.

very nice, loves what she does, but too hard of a grader for the way she conducts the class. dont let the 9th grade style of teaching make you think the tests are as easy, and youll be fine.
