i don't like history classes but i actually liked hers. she grades pretty hard on her tests, but i went to her office hours and she let me re-do my test to get points back. i went from a C to a B on my midterm by doing that. she's really understanding and if you go to her office hours you will definitely do well. there is a LOT of reading too.

Her class is interesting and she really knows her stuff, but her lectures are unorganized. Does not use a textbook, which would have been helpful, but makes you read four boring books and quizes you afterwards. Exams are not easy and once she made us personify people from the American Revolution, which was totally ridiculous. I don't recommend her.

Anyone who says anything bad about Prof. Roy is simply just mad at her because they are a bad student. Anyone who needs a tutorial to write an essay needs to go back to high school. She is an excellent professor, one of the best I have had at SDSU. I plan on taking her next semester. I will be sad when she retires, which is very soon.

Worst teacher ever. She's a little woman from the south and thinks she is an english professor. Don't take this class theres no homework but your suppose to read everynight and it screws you after about a week when you stop doing that. Midterms are absolutely ridiculous hardest things ever!

HIS 115: She was great. When i came in hated History but she made me really enjoy it. You have to do most of the reading, but she does go over it in class. You write essays based on the reading. Go to the review sessions and you will know exactly what to write on the exams. Definitely reccomend her!!

I don't know what all these people are talking about! I took her my 1st semester and she is still my fav teacher. Fun, interesting and extremely easy as long as you just read the few books and actually try in class, you will end up loving this class, believe me,I came in class hating history, but now i love it, best class i have taken at STATE!

Pay attention and jot notes in class because she barely writes on the board and there is not textbook to follow. I only paid attention and went to review before the midterm and final and miraculously got a B with very little effort. If I had taken notes down and did the reading, I would've gotten an A.

Very kind. REALLY knows the material. Can be a bit anal about certain things (at times I felt as though she thought we were all Latin American History majors). She sincerely likes to include the class in the discussions. To do well and stay in tune I suggest a lot of participation. Read everything!

where to begin?Lectures were entirely random/no structure,stopping only to write up Latin words that left no impression upon main ideas.Random quizes on reading, questions were specifics not main ideas.She got lazy at the end of the sem and had a month worth of group presentations/movie.Finals were graded easy tho, highly advise u not to take

Great lady !! Really nice !! lectures are the same for every class, basic mid term and final, in class essay with ids. gives pop quizes on readings for extra points. has a book report for term paper and presentation. she is helpful and a wealth of information.

Took this class b/c i thought it would be easy, but it wasnt, only if you do ALL the readings b/c she pop quizzes on almost every section. She's a nice teacher and goes over the material until over & over. her exams R tough, u practically need to know EVERYTHING, & her 5 essay prompts are too long for you to study or remember! Great Prof. though!

she is very very hard. her exams are very hard.you have to read 4 books and take 2pt quizes for them. stay away, this class should be easier but she wants you to write a lot on the exams.be prepared to work a lot and study with groups if you want a good grade.i don't think i will get moer tha a "B" AND I WORKED MY BUTT OFF.

As a senior in a freshman level class I forgot how easy it could be. But she made it even easier then that. if you e-mail her a list before the test she will go over it and give it back to you so the IDs become extremly clear...go to the review days she outlines the essay questions

Very interesting class. Reading consists of three books, one you'll pick and do a book critique. She gives little quizzes before talking about ch, so read chapter before class! Midterm and final are IDs and essay questions. Very picky on grammar and spelling.
