Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He was the deciding factor as to why I accepted Clemson's offer over the other graduate schools where I was excepted. If every teacher was like him this would be a different world. He is absolutely adored by everyone. He is a true academic, so if you don't care about learning or are lazy, don't bother.

Comment:

He is one of those rare professors who strikes the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. His humor tends towards the quiet and sarcastic. I loved him! He used to be a psychologist, so he's pretty understanding when it comes to working through a problem. In my opinion, the best professor in the department.

Dr. Hudgins is the coolest teacher I've had so far in my time at UMW. He made class interesting, keep everyone entertained and interacting with the class and never allowed the class to drag. While he can be a strict grader on writing, it is always based off criteria which he makes available and useful. Take any class you can with him!!!!!

I LOVE CARTER HUDGINS! his tests are a bit difficult and is grading is all over the place but he is just the kindest guy. if you go to the history symposiums at the end of the semester he gives a bunch of extra credit which is nice. the class is a little boring but he just loves the subject so much so he makes it bearable. take this professor!!!

Dr. Hudgins seems really nice and he said hi to me on campus walk when he walked by, but he is a hard teacher. His tests were impossible to do well on for me. Seemed like they weren't on the notes I took. However, he went a bit easier on the papers, which didn't make a lot of sense but somehow helped my grade. Go figure.

Who else can wear a knit tie and pull it off? In short, the Hudge is the best, but you have to work hard to do well. Don't take his classes if you're a slacker and you value your GPA, but if you want to learn, take his classes! Donna gets a special shout out in this review because she's pretty freaking awesome as well. Say hi to her in the library.

I absolutely love Professor Hudgins! I'm one of his advisees (both freshman and major), and he's hands down the best professor ever. You HAVE to know how to write and back up your papers; if you can you'll get an A. Read the textbook and especially the supplemental texts. He had my class over for Labor Day! Take ANY class of his that you can!

Dr. Hudgins is great! Historic Pres. 101 is a fun class and he makes it interesting. It can be tough at times, but if you stay on top of things, you'll do fine. Dr. Hudgins is really nice and even invites students to his house for "holiday nibbles" before exams. He is great! :)

Really, really nice guy...but hard grader. Only two tests, and he does give a review sheet. He's not really clear on his directions for papers, so it's hard to get a good grade. He made the class really interesting though, but don't expect to do nothing and get a good grade.

No no no he is not hot. But he is very nice. I hated him at first because he was too quiet and never made any sense, but he's always willing help you out - struggling to keep a C in the class though. READ THE BOOK! And stupid essays about "worldly connections". I like him but wouldn't reccomend him.
