Very vague about what she wants from her students. When you e-mail her with questions, you will feel like you are bothering her. Offers little to no feedback on writing assignments. All my other online teachers responded to each student individually about their writing. This teacher sends out a generic email to all of her students at one time.

Professor Hearn is really passionate about business writing and wants her students to succeed. She gives you two chances to do your resume, cover letter and white paper drafts. She helped me build a resume that I used to get the internship that I have now! If you have the chance, take Professor Hearn!

Honestly, she is a great lady. But let me tell you now. She does not look at emails often. You tell her you will be missing class to family emergencies or other unfortunate circumstances, she will still consider them as absences. You can tell her ahead of time, it wont matter. 7 or more absences is automatic F. Final is a group paper and pitch.

The sweetest lady you will ever meet. You learn to write a resume, cover letter, & various professional emails. The final is a group paper and business pitch. Homework is usually a discussion board that won't take more than 15 minutes. She answers all questions and is quick to respond to email. Very easy class and lots of fun. Take her!!

Online course. Emails: Only responds on Mon-Fri between the hours of 8AM-3PM do not expect anything on weekends. Grading: will usually expect business format. Takes off points where you should have used business formatting vs simple English EVEN WHEN NOT SPECIFIED Tests: timed and grades fairly harshly. Doable. Mastering Business is the main book.

Will give you a bad grade on presentation . Treats class like a high school class and lose points if you step out of class too often. Try to stay on her good side.

Nice professor. But, does not give clear feedback on rough drafts and does not post grades which makes figuring out where you stand difficult. She is a nice person but givs busy work in class. If you don't get on her bad side, you'll be fine. Just show up.

Even though she was pretty nice to me, Professor Hearn is not a great teacher. I would recommend taking someone else for this class. She gives no feedback on papers, her grading criteria is bland, and she just piles you with useless busy work and other assignments that won't make you learn much. If you get on her bad side, it won't be pretty.

Prof. Hearn is the single most difficult teacher to understand that I have ever taken in college. This professor assigns very vague assignments, gives very little feedback on rough drafts, and then will give you a poor grade on the final with little hesitation. She assigns few grades and doesn't post them. Prepare to be biting nails until the end.

I LOVE Hearn! I literally hate English classes, but this was one of the best classes I have ever taken at Towson, and it was just taken for a core. I was one of the few non-business majors in this class and still greatly enjoyed it. I went to apply for a job a few months later and already had everything I needed thanks to her! HIGHLY recommend!!

Professor Hearn is simply amazing. I hate English as a subject and she made it a blast! She has the personality of a kindergarten teacher. She patience and she always there and willing to help. There are no exams, if you like working in groups... great which it should be in a business environment. I recommend her over and over again!!

Professor Hearn is the nicest woman. Her class allows students to complete assignments that are useful for the business world. Not a stressful class and an easy advanced writing seminar.

I wouldn't recommend her class if you don't work well in groups, especially groups who make you do all of the work because you will be stuck with them throughout the semester. There is little individual work... just a resume, cover letter, and journal. Not a bad class, just horrific if your group members don't cooperate with you. don't miss class

I would not recommend Professor Hearn for this class. For an advanced writing class, the emphasis should not be on writing in groups. Attendance is mandatory, and the lectures are dry. You'll write a resume and cover letter that's appropriate for the 1950's. After that, it's group writing for the duration of the class. If that's your bag, have fun.

She assigns some busy work (includes making a resume and cover letter). There are no exams, just a huge group project based on pretending to build a social enterprise. Also, make sure you like the group you're in because 80% of the course will involve working with them. In addition, readings arent really necessary (I shared books).

A very sweet lady, and is always there to help you. Class is easy, basic business writing course. Attendance matters, but it is really boring. A lot of in class sharing and being with writing groups. Overall good class and professor.

Great professor. She loves feedback on assignments which by the way were only a mid term paper and then a final paper. Only worked on those two the whole year. She really cares about her students and will cater to your needs. Overall fantastic experience.

Overall awesome teacher. She teaches you things that are needed for the real world. You are assigned to write 5 small reflection journals each week (two are in class, no word limit, & you can write about anything.) Plus a few papers & presentation. No tests. She's super helpful. Very nice. Actually learned a lot in the class. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!
