Catherine is phenomenal, she's brilliant, and she's a sweetheart. The readings for the course were dense, but thought-provoking. The class was intimidating at first, but it gets easier as you go, the weekly responses were a lot of work, but she gives good feedback. Overall, she's an amazing professor, and a wonderful human being!!!

This course is amazing - the readings are heavy, but very interesting. Catherine is spectacular, very profound, and very kind. She tells a lot of really great stories and takes a great, holistic approach to the course. I recommend this course to everyone - you won't regret it. This course (and this teacher) are why I'm becoming an Anthropologist!

Catherine is an excellent professor, and the course was phenomenal. Tests are heavy for the time limit (be efficient), but she always lets you choose what questions you do. Gives marks wherever possible, and she explains things really well. Overall, she's very kind and extremely smart & she tells great stories, take her course - it's life-changing!

One of the hardest classes I have ever taken. As a non major I made a huge mistake by being in this class. She's very nice and interesting but to a non major her long answer tests are impossible. I studied for 20 hours and had no hope in heck of passing.

I adored my class with Catherine. She was very respectful and gave incredible and interesting lectures. I took her class as a GLER (I'm a Bio major) and I'm glad I did. I found the exams very straightforward and she did her best to give you marks wherever possible - she even provided an accurate study guide! I would absolutely take another class.

Great prof, tests are very fair if you go to class. Very interesting has tons of cool experiences. 10/10 would take another class again. She gives you an exact outline of what will be on the exam.

Comment:
Catherine's tests are extremely difficult, especially if you're not an anthro major. She gives a ridiculous amount of questions, making it impossible to finish the exam in the time given, and the answers need to be exactly what she is looking for, word for word -no partial marks are given otherwise. I would never take another course with her. Ever.

Catherine is a very interesting and nice professor but her tests are nearly impossible for a non-major. They are confusing and highly detail oriented to the point of complete confusion. Studying for 20 hours does not help and even if you feel you understood it, that doesnt mean you will pass. Her class is very interesting and i stayed until the end

Catherine is absolutely amazing. She is very clear in what she expects for this course and how each assignment will be handled. Homework every week, but no tests. I would take this again with her given the chance. She also provides excellent feedback if you may have misunderstood a concept.

Catherine is brilliant. Some of the topics she discussed changed my view on life, and she really inspired me. The class was a big challenge- quite a bit of work, you need to know your material inside and out. Attend EVERY SINGLE CLASS. But the work was worth it. Very passionate teacher, so down to earth and approachable. I recommend this course.

She assigns a lot of readings, but you soon learn you don't need to do them. Listen to the examples from the books she uses; THOSE will be on the exams. Attend every class, take some good notes and do a bit of studying and this class is a breeze. She has some pretty interesting stories to tell as well. Decent first year prof.

Such an interesting prof! She has good stories and you can tell she enjoys teaching about it. Make sure to go to every class: it may seem like you can pull off with just online notes and the texts, but she adds so much to the notes in class and gives many examples that are on the tests that are no where else.

Basically, she's alright, pretty good actually. Just make sure you attend class everyday...I mean it. If you do, you don't need to do ANY readings, just listen to her examples. Gives study guides, online notes are pretty much useless, but it's pretty decent if you put a bit of work in.

Talks really fast, you have to read a whoooooole lot. She tries to put notes online but they are like useless, you have to have been in class to understand them. It is possible to get a good mark but you have to be prepared to read and study. and ya she talks really fast its an ok class to take but nothing amaizing.
