Dr. Parrish is a great person, but a very tough professor. She is dead serious about any plagarism and is willing to fail students. She offers a lot of office hours which are nice and she is always there to help you, but you have to put in effort in her classes. She kind of acts like we are only taking her course which is stressful.

I had professor Parrish for lit studies she is a really nice lady, but a really bad teacher. she is not clear on what she wants from her papers or what her grading rubric is. she makes mandatory meetings with her before each paper is due, but her office visits were never helpful nor did they make anything more clear. i would never take her again.

I had her for Lit Studies for Engl Majors. She seemed to understand who was struggling in her class but she couldn't quite figure out how to help them so those three or four students struggled for the whole semester. The tests are long and tough but, if you pay attention in class, you should be fine. Overall, nice woman, bad teacher.

She's a really nice lady, but I didn't like the class all that much. I felt like it was a little easy and we were being treated like children. Maybe that's just because Lit Studies is the basic course for all English majors. I did well on the tests, but got about average on the essays. Overall decent but eh.

She's very nice, but sometimes she's a little unclear about what she wants in her papers. I probably could have pulled a B if I had a little more indication of what she was looking for, but she's an excellent professor. Just read the material, speak your mind, and you'll be fine.

Professor Parrish is a nice lady and her classes are pretty informative. She definitely knows her stuff. Her grading is pretty strict though, and so don't be shocked if you get lower grades then usual. In Lit studies we had 2 papers and had to revise for the 2 other papers for 4 total. I swear she doesn't give As on the first draft...

I took Dr. Parrish for the first survey of US Lit. I think she is an extremely helpful and nice woman. I've been to her several times for paper help (as well as schedule advising) and she is great. She knows her stuff and will help you in every way that she can. I definitely recommend taking her for any class!

Dr. Parrish is amazing! She's so helpful, she would always tell us things about advising that were very helpful to me. Besides that, she covered the content well, gave very constructive comments on papers, and allowed enough clear assignments that I could improve my grade with by end of semester. I also learned so much in this class! Great prof!

Dr. Parrish is AMAZING. I highly recommend her especially for literary studies. Lit Studies is the basis of all of the English courses and she couldn't have made it more clear. You will do well if you participate in class and do the readings. The tests are a little tough but if you keep up with the work you'll be fine! Most helpful professor eve

I had Dr. Parrish for Women in Lit. An extremely nice lady and lectures range from dull to ok. Her exams are difficult because much of them is passage identifications, but many works we read are very similar. She also assigns a lot of reading, more than any other English class I've had. I recommend her only if you are taking no other ENGL classes.

I had Dr. Parrish for Women in Literature, but I've also been to her for advising. She is the sweetest woman you will ever meet and it was an absolute joy being in her class, because of how genuinely nice and helpful she is. I'm getting better grades in her class than any other because I just enjoy it.

I took Lit Studies with Dr. Parrish. Yes, she's pedantic--and she should be. Lit Studies is a keystone course for English majors. If you don't understand the basic concepts in Lit Studies, you'll crash and burn in the Seminars. She's thorough, distractable, extremely good-natured, and will help you with just about anything except your laundry.

Really nice professor. Class is a bit boring, but make sure you attend every class. A ton of writing assingments, but she is crystal clear on directions and answers any questions. Can be a semi hard grader at times. Make sure you do all of the readings and take notes on them. For english majors, she is also a great advisor as well!

I took her for both lit. of american renaissance and us lit to real. Class participation is a must. she's not an easy teacher but she's helpful and very kind. I did very well on her tests but did average on the papers. If you read, study, write amazing papers you'll do great. I would take her again. She's is a worthwhile professor. knows her stuff.

VERY Kind, Understanding Woman. Show up to class, get the jist of the stories, remember them, and you'll be fine for the tests. Remembering some passages to name story and author was a bit tough, I was ok with a passing grade. I'm not the reading type, but the class was tolerable because of her personality and insight into the stories.
