Prof Clowney is one of the sweetest and most caring professors Ive ever had. He is so accommodating, and is willing to work with you outside of class around your schedule. He even offers to skype to help you with problems. He allows test retakes as long as you show improvement. He genuinely cares for the well being of his students. Wld take again

I had to withdraw from this course. If you take Professor Clowney, be prepared to teach yourself all of the material. Class is mandatory, but you do not learn a single thing.

One of the worst professors ive ever had. Never explained anything and went right into the material. Half the class had no idea what was going on. Also he spent an entire lecture crying (literally) about Donald Trump instead of teaching us. Never take his class.

Intro to symbolic logic, the class itself not professor, is pretty complicated. Don't know how ppl take it for fun, only took it bc major required it. Clowney is helpful whenever you ask. Go to him before you go to tutoring center bc they don't know his style. He's very helpful, but the material itself is VERY HARD. Props 2u if u can figure it out!

If you take notes on the reading and do the homework you'll be fine. He's really confusing. I just do the homework in class.

Yes his lectures always tend to go pass the class time. Yes there is reading to do. But what is great about this professor is that he truly cares more about how well you understand material moreso than how well you can do to get a good grade. Also you dont need to read literally everything he assigns, i barely did and was able to engage in class.

Aesthetics WI - Very kind, caring professor, however his readings are difficult to understand, but he expects that. The only thing you do in class is listen to him lecture on about the readings you did, which are supposed to be for clarity purposes, but often don't help. When you ask him one question, he brings up multiple thoughts. Not great.

He is SO sweet and has his funny moments, but as a non-philosophy major the class is super dry and I dreaded going. The readings were very interesting but he rambles on in class way too much, barely getting to the point of the readings. Rather easy and understanding grader, but I'm never taking a philosophy course again

The semester was kind if a jumbled mess. We were behind the syllabus but he still expected us to be keeping up with all of the reading and to be prepared to discuss anything. Too disorganized for me. A very nice guy though.

Funny man, clear, easy to get along with. Sometimes a bit dry but philosophy on a whole is not really that exciting, at least for me. Not that tough a class, just MAKE SURE YOU READ! A lot of reading to do, but discussion can keep you on top of things. Took writing intensive...slightly rough. Great man, ask him to play his harmonica sometime!

i had him for intro to symb logic. i had no idea what the class was, it was for my major. he went throught the material very quickly through the first half, and then slowed down towards the end, realizing he was going too fast. he rambles. helpful if you need help solving a problem. can be confusing sometimes, buts it more the material.

one of the best teachers i have ever had. His class was extremely interesting if you are willing to participate in the discussions. He is a wealth of information and very humorous. We even had a class or 2 on the grass in front of bunce.

I do not recommend this professor. He does not teach and everything is left very unclear. You have to be able and willing to teach yourself if you have to take one of his classes.
