Comment:

Good teacher of difficult governmental concepts. Interjected her opinion into the discussion A LOT. The tests were a breeze with moderate studying. Half of the projects were pointless discussions. Overall, this prof is a mixed bag. If you agree with her more democratic/progressive mindset, then you'll probably like her just fine.

She is exigent, but flexible; for pass her class watch the news every week, she can give you 5-10 bonus-questions on tests. Is important to read the textbook or at last her notes in class before each class. Take a lot of notes on her class sometimes she change a little the topic on her notes. Three test and one optional & three assignments do it.

Very good class! Just be prepared to work. This was an 8 week course and does carry a heavy workload. It's not just a read the text and take the test type of class but grading is very fair and as long as you can keep up and put in the effort, you will get a good grade.

Professor Durish is awesome! Very upbeat and genuinely excited about govt, so it makes you excited. Very helpful and extremely clear in explaining everything. Welcomes questions/concerns and genuinely cares about her students. I am not someone who loves govt, but she made me very interested! Study her guides and read text. :)

I don't see why people had a hard time in her class. I hardly ever looked through my notes, played games on my phone in class, got average grades on the homework, and never did a single extra credit. And I still got a B. And trust me, I'm not just that smart. I don't see how anyone who tried thought this class was difficult.

great teacher however, her focus does tend to sway away from the main topic then she will take about 5 minutes to remember, also most questions on her tests are difficult to discern at first and you need to understand her political mind set before even beginning to fulfill class required materiel.great teacher but never want to take her class again

Professor Durish is someone who is very into the government of America. She's funny and very sweet. However, if you don not read the textbook before each class, you will be extremely lost. She gives 3 assignments and 3 tests. There's an optional 4th Test, but that test is comprehensive to replace the lowest grade. Take her ONLY if your ready to wor

I guess I'm just the odd one out here, but I didn't like her at all. As a person she seems great, but as a teacher not so much. Her tests were full of loaded questions that were politically biased. If you don't do her "extra credit" you can't even make a C. If you aren't a die-hard liberal with loads of free time to "volunteer" stay away.

She is so forgetful. The lady forgets materials and then when it comes to the test, her questions are tricky. you have to know more than whats on the notes given. I kept trying to get after class tutorials with her and it still did not help. DON"T DO IT!

Use the book, fill out the study guide provided through Black Board. Tests are multiple choice + short essay that counts for 20% of the test grade. Service learning was not much fun! it did motivate me to get involved with what is happening in my community and local government. Thanks!

Learn a lot from her. Very interesting class. Notes and lectures sometime unclear so make sure to read the book. Do the projects (easy but take time). She asks extra credits on current events which's kinda hard if you don't like the news.
