Adams is a really nice guy and he's very helpful! His class is kind of on the boring side, because it's less of a discussion and more of a lecture. My only real problem with this class was that Adams doesn't use Blackboard. Before finals week I thought my grade was fine, but when I emailed him, I found out my grade was much lower.

Comment:

Dr. Adams does, in fact, do an excellent job of preparing, explaining course material, and he also has a very objective way of conducting class. Dates are only important in survey classes. This is why he places heavy emphasis on dates in survey. Take an upper-level class in Edgar Allan Poe with him. That is his dissertation. Hope this helps.

Dr. Adams knows quite a bit about his subject; unfortunately, he was not able to prove that much in class. Expect something more like the history of American literature, rather than a class in literary appreciation or criticism. I mean, learning dates is useful and all, but can't students look that up in the library? Just not a good class.

Dr. Adams is wonderful! I like his lecture style and have learned so much, both in class and in drill. He has a wonderful personality that makes one really want to do one's best, and he's very encouraging. I'd definitely take more classes with him!

A literary genius with a massive vocabulary. Dr. Adams is bar none the most intelligent teacher I've had the pleasure to be taught by. He grades fairly; don't expect an easy A, but don't think you will get the shaft if you do your work. If you choose him, be ready for depth and complexity.
