If there ever was a definition for a horrible Educator, it is FRIEDRICHS. He goes so fast, if you miss one class or one concept consider yourself lost for the semester. He is so rude and cannot understand the fact that some people do not have a musical background and/or interest. It's an introduction course for a REASON.

I'm great at picking up new instruments. This skill did not help in this class (unlike other methods classes). Quizzes almost every class will ensure that you retain knowledge but he also seems to enjoy tripping people up. He has forgotten whole assignments/quizzes in grading reports. Doesn't care if you need to save chops for a performance.

Very challenging class, the Professor very enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable but very hard grader. He seems to think that everyone is up to date on everything there is to know about music. If you want to pass I suggest that you first try, see him as much as you need to, and catch as much as he says in class;; he says a lot in one day; not cool

He does not explain things clearly. He always brags about how musically talented he is, and he doesnt understand that everyone isnt. The build an instrument project is so dumb and he grades very hard. He takes the fun out of music.

Argh! did not explain things well. i used to love music until i had his class. reading music notes and creating chords was made so difficult by this teacher. very hard on tests. recorder playing test is so intimidating since its done infront of his face with no one else playing with you. he seeks perfection and for beginers like me is very difficult.
