I really liked Dr. Harper. 95% of this class is common sense and the book is actually interesting. 4 mini papers are nothing and the tests are based on the book and lectures. His class can be boring but overall I learned alot from him. If you're looking for an easy and interesting core class, take this.

Awful...this guy has no idea what is going on. Tests are very confusing, he doesn't do his job in regards to recording and assigning the correct grades to his students. He is approachable but he can't even help you with the material he is teaching.

Harper is a good guy but his class kinda stinks. His tests were confusing and he really wasn't that helpful or very clear about his lessons. Required reading can help a little for the tests but not too much.

Terrible teacher. Very negative, answers in tests and essays never good enough. Often very confused. ALWAYS keep papers he gives you because he WILL not record them and ask for them back. Needs someone to tell him when he has five minutes left and when it is time to go, but often lectures for longer than time allows. AVOID!

Harper is a sweet man that wants to get the class involved. Treats students with respect and as adults. Easy A if read book and follow studyguides. Especially helpful if see in office hours. all tests are over 3-4 chapters. 4-5 Journals(easily graded).

SO BORING! Ridiculous going to class. The lectures are boring, he get's confused so often and so lost in the lecture. Not very helpful when it comes to meeting him or getting your papers back. Covers nothing more than reviewing the book. Read and take your own notes and you will be completely fine.

This was the most absolutely useless class I have ever been in. Forces you to write 12 journals that literally serves no purpose. He makes no sense in lecture and is the author of the book, which also makes very little sense. Talks mostly about how food is processed instead of social/cultural interactions involved. Terribley boring and pointless

EASY. But don't bother listening during lecture. Material is interesting but his lectures ramble on and on until 2 minutes after class. Just read the book and you'll be fine. Ask a question from time to time ebcause he likes class discussion and will threaten you with an addt'l quiz if no one is responsive

He's a good guy however the material gets pretty dry. The reservation I have regarding the class is taht there are four ten point essays as well as four fourty point quizes. That's it. You can miss twenty points to get an 'A' in the class, fourty for a 'B' and so on. That's not necissarilly a bad thing, but keep it in mind...

I will never take another class with Dr. Harper. Bumbling old man, lectures about generalities, says "in that way" at least 25 times in one class period (I counted each time). Wanted to take another one of his classes for my major, but refuse now. Very easy grader. If you have to take him, read the books and space out on lecture.

Harper is a great guy. He is a funny little old guy and he always made class enjoyable. Tests are super easy and you only have to write a few papers (completion grades). I'd definitely recommend him to anyone.
