He has preconceive ideas of what some students can and/or cannot do which I feel limits his teaching of those & therefore shortchanges them. He also tells the student, which I feel colors the students ideas of themselves and what they can achieve. A good teacher would raise expectations instead of lowering them. Nice guy other than that. Means well

His lectures are kinda boring, but you watch a lot of movies. He's really nice and gives ya good grades if you at least try and also if you show up! You have choices on what you wanna do for projects and if you don't like what he wants you to do you can talk to him and more than likely do something that you're more interested in.

Kaufmann is a good man. His lectures are boring but if you get to know him and talk to him after class he is really awesome. (it will also improve your grade, cause he lovessss just talking music to students). I'd definately take him again.

i've gotten to know him better as a music major. he is harmless like another said. he means well...but he is boring to listen to in class and also very forgetful. i think he needs to retire soon. but he is very knowledgeable!
