Didn't seem to like his students all that much and it was hard press to see him smile. Sorry I took the class; I felt that I wasted that money. But interesting enough he left for a while and when he came back he seemed glad to be there. His recognitions of students with a smile was always there then.

he is retired now...but he still comes around and when he sees his previous students, his face just lights up and he comes to talk to you. he really cares for all his students. great guy, great conductor.
