Great prof for Chem 211. Interesting lectures and made sure we understood the labs and how to minimize sources of error. His tests were fair and similar to practice exams, and had in class activities to help you understand material. He was helpful in his office as well. He is retired but still teaches, shows his passion for analytical chemistry.

Lucy was great for Chem 211! The lab is hard at first but isn't that bad when you get used to it. Has in-class activities that help you understand material (and help your mark) and fair tests that are similar to practice exams. He is helpful in his office and cares about students. Wish he was the prof for Chem 213 next term too. :)

Going into Chem 211, I was really stressed out from all the reviews I heard. However, Dr. Lucy makes class VERY enjoyable, and is quite helpful! The lab portion is NOT as harsh as everyone says, if you put in the effort. Dr. Lucy is very approachable, and his exams are fair! He has class "quizzes" (activities) that help you understand the material.

Dr. Lucy is great! He makes boring material interesting, cares about students, and is willing to help. Exams are fair and quite similar to previous ones, has lectures that help with lab material and his passion for analytical chemistry shows in class. Midterm was a good and fair exam. Would definitely take again!

Dr. Lucy is the kindest prof. He is there to help, through email and in person. Exams are really easy if you take good notes and study it. The lab is hard so make sure to study and memorize all the notes in advance because there is a lot of notes and can take a while to memorize all of it for exams.

Dr. Lucy is by far the most helpful and engaged prof I have ever had. I really enjoyed his class although the lecture content was so ridiculously dry. Dr. Lucy always tried to make class as interesting as he could so I would definitely recommend his class so long as you're interested in analytical chemistry.

(I took 211/213 with him) Absolutely amazing professor. Dr. Lucy goes above and beyond. I am currently in third year and have never met a professor like him. He truly wants his students to do well, and he will help you with anything (lab or lecture). There is no reason people do bad in any of his classes!! This man deserves a raise!!

Text book is not necessary, his notes should be enough and are available online. One of the nicest and most helpful profs I have ever met. He seems to really love teaching and he made Chem 211 bearable, though the lab is still hard as hell. The course material and exams were easy and fair. Amazing Prof.

Dr. Lucy is by far the best university professor I have encountered in my last three years. When it comes to Chem, it's hard to find great profs who make sense and are clear. Dr. Lucy is very clear about expectations. Although it wasn't the easiest course, you can still do very well if you follow his guidelines. This man is amazing!!

One of the greatest professor that I had in first year! He's really helpful. He answers questions through e-mail and forwards it to everyone. Plus, he does really cool demos almost every class. He really cares for his students and introduces interesting career paths too. Highly recommended! Just do the problem sets and put in extra effort to study.

Dr.Lucy is one of the most talented professors I've ever had. He genuinely loves the material and cares about your success both in the class and in your future. That being said the content of this course is really easy so Dr.Lucy expects you to know your stuff, REALLY know your stuff. Pro-tips are go to EVERY lecture & do the practice finals.
