He was a great professor, in my own opinion. Yes, he is fairly old but that does not stop him from engaging in class discussions and trying to be 100% helpful. i heard he gives A's to everybody, i got an A but i know some girls that didnt , i do recommend him

Extremely sweet and intelligent. He enjoys class discussion and student participation. He is very lenient when it comes to assignments and prefers his students to spend their time on their fieldwork placements. For this reason, some of my best lesson plans came from his class! Don't pass up the opportunity.

Sweetest most adorable old man ever, but I didn't learn that much in his class. It is an easy A though, so if you're basing your pick on just that go with him. He loses his train of thought a lot but he was so adorable it didn't bother me

Really nice old man and you will most likely get an A in his class but I learned absolutely nothing. He is so oblivious to everything. In the beginning of the semester we had a journal due every class based on our observation for that week. 3 lesson plans, a Big Book & a final (index card allowed). Idk if i would take him again, really pointless.

He is a really sweet old man but you learn absolutly nothing in this class. It is an easy A but it seems pointless to go to class because you don't do anything. All the work is due the last few weeks of the semester. I did talk to him one on one and he knew what he was talking about but in the class he doesn't know anything.

He is a very nice man but we hardly had any work in the beginning of the semester and then the last month or so he assigned a lot all at once. It was too much at the end of the semester when you have a lot for all of your other classes. The class wasn't as organized as it should have been

What a wonderful Professor! Dr. Swensen is very kind and makes class a joy! Expect to learn alot.You have to work hard but you learn quite a bit in his class. He is an asset to St. Joseph's College- and so is his wife!

He is like a grandpa! He is really sweet, and I hate the students who think he's not. They're stupid. He is incredibly sweet, and gives everyone the grades they deserve. He's funny too! He pretends to sneeze really loud, and it scares you, but then you laugh really hard!

At first, Dr. Swensen seems very old and forgetful...however by the end of the semester I realized that he taught us the entire book and I felt very ready to continue with my child study classes...very sweet, kind, and forgiving of late assignmets. You've got to do them well, but he gives a lot of wiggle room!

Very easy going, not very structured as far as due dates go, so if you need structure don't take him. He made thesis less stressful. Definately would recommend him for thesis.
