I took this class online and enjoyed it a lot. I learned about new types of food and the assignments were mostly to prepare dishes and upload pictures of the food. Very fun class, one of the easiest and one of the most enjoyable classes I have ever had at GV.

He is a nice professor he just struggles to communicate outside of class. He also struggled to update the schedule if a test was switched for example. I would say he can improve by sticking to his syllabus or being more direct more often to the overall class that he just has to let us students know more in advance. He was great otherwise.

Super easy class but so unorganized. Just got grades in April from things due the beginning of February. Would change or cancel an exam the day of and you would never actually know what was due or what wasn't. Super easy grader but online exam questions are actually from the book and reading material so can't google. Not worth reading though.

Just an all-around good guy. I made multiple mistakes in his Food for Thought honors sequence and he was understanding and allowed me to make up all of them. Lectures were interesting and he kept us as engaged as we could be for an 8 am class!

Intro to Food and Beverage management was a cake walk. While his lectures were far from engaging, the material was important. All tests, including the final, were online and open-book - literally word for word from the powerpoints or the text. Sometimes classes felt like a waste of time to attend, but participation points are given each class.

Charlie is very knowledgable about the world of Food and Beverage. His lectures unfortunately are not that interesting. When lecturing he pretty much reads right off of the power point. His exams are 1/3 lecture 2/3 text book, so make sure you read the book.

Very nice professor with a great knowledge of Montenegro (what this class was focused on). Almost always has a powerpoint that are kinda boring. Loves when students ask questions. Online tests and only one big group project. Not the most organized teacher but grades fairly easy.

Charlie is extremely passionate about what he teaches but struggles giving the information. He often time gets off topic and talks about something not related to what we were talking about. Although he can be difficult to understand and his due dates are confusing this was an extremely easy class and I think almost everyone go an A.

This was a special topics class, Culinary Tourism. Charlie tries so hard, but falls short. We never knew when anything was due, he would constantly forget assignments. We had an exam 4 weeks after we were supposed to and it was opinion based. Our final project was a huge joke, no talk of any edits until the very last class. A waste of 3 credits.

Ok thought this class was going to be fun but was totally wrong. You don't even cook and barely learn about Italian food. You just listen to him blab about the history of Italy the whole class. You also have to read about a thousand pages before each class and there are pop quizzes on basically any information you learned.

Charlie is a really nice and funny guy with lots of stories and is an overall good professor. He can be a bit unclear with his lectures/explanations, but his exams and quizzes are pretty easy. He grades papers somewhat harshly though. Class is only focused on Italy and actually deals with EARLY Italian history much more than it deals with cuisine.

This guy cares about students until u question something. He takes everything personal so just shut up and put up w/ his incompetence if u want an A. 4 tests, 3 quizzes are not tough. He grades 3 papers very tough

He doesn't answer emails very much and if he does, not very helpful. He is NEVER NEVER NEVER in his office hours. And you will only concentrate on Italy, not exactly what I was in for...

I've had Charlie for a few classes, all of them incredibly frustrating. They're easy, but a total waste of your time. He rambles on throughout the entire class about random things that rarely have anything to do with the subject. He's a great guy and does know what he's talking about; he just doesn't relay that very well in his lectures at all.

He is an awesome professor. He has a lot of students so sometimes it is hard for him to show particular interest, but he does make an effort. He is very understanding and extremely helpful if you have questions. I strongly recommend this professor!

Too many movies! Every class is a new movie, which gets really boring. He's really nice and the class itself is easy, but this it is just not as interesting and fun as it sounds at the beginning.

Wonderful professor, if you ask questions, ask for help, ask for clarity he will give it. He is always testing the waters for new ways to make classes better. Some of the tests were out of left field but overall great! Sometimes he should be clearer but everyone passes his classes if they follow the rules.
