Chris is one of the best if not the best prof in the Image Arts building. Expect lots of work, and a slightly formulaic style of teaching, but also expect well-thought-out and meaningful lectures.

Chris is a great teacher. He may be hard, demanding, and give a lot of homework, but he truly cares about you growing as an artist and is tough because he wants all of his students to do well. His remarks can be a bit cutting, but I think it's to help students grow a thick skin, you know, because the real world ain't easy.

Toph, Toph, where do we begin with this SOB. Love his spirit, love his heart. He really cared about the kidz. Can't believe another year has come and gone without him. We miss you Toph; if you're out there please give us a sign that you still care. Only downfall is we never had a buffet in class. such a shame.

Not very knowledgable, unless you count Bette Midler films. Does tend to play favourites. Not a good filmmaker himself.

Chris is a nice guy. He has a very narrow focus in terms of structure (ie. it has to be Aristotelian) but overall he is willing to accept different modes. Just write whatever you really care about and he'll accept it.

Chris is hard on students because he wants to get the best out of you. Don't take his criticism too hard, but use it to make better scripts. If you plan on being a screenwriter you better get used to it anyway.

despite how difficult he might be at times here's how it is: Aylward will recognize and give recognition for good writing. You write something interesting - he'll recognize it and encourage you duly.

Chris is a very helpful teacher, however, I think that his lectures are very longwinded and elementary. However, he is almost always right in his criticisms and I think the reason he recieves a lot of flack is that some people have a very thin skin and a very big ego. Maybe you should try listening to him. Chris is strong teacher.

What a washed up teacher. He's tight when it comes to film editing, but beyond that his suggestions are purely by the book, to the point where he gives no personal insight whatsover. And he's always playing the "devil's advocate".

He's the epodime of those who can't do - teach. If you like mainstream film you can get on his good side and it's clear sailing, if you're on his bad side you'll be lucky to pass.
