Great teacher! He uses slides, but then also demonstrates some code during class as well, which makes it easier to understand. Also, he often goes off on tangents that sometimes get ahead or out of the scope of the class, but are super useful if you follow them!

To his credit, Hartman was a good teacher, but the format of the class was very weird. A "flipped classroom" class, where lectures were delivered online through a third party. Class time was just for working on homework. Felt like I was taking an online course, and the videos were not great, but Hartman was helpful himself.

This guy is among the most intelligent people I've ever met. There is no messing around though, he presents difficult material and expects you to understand it. However, the courses I took with him have served me through every job I've held in my field.
