A really great guy. The tests are very difficult. I hate philosophy, even as a good student I found that the tests were very tough regardless of how much I would study. You really have to pay attention every class and know the material. I went to his office hours and he was super helpful , and really helped me out at the end of the semester.

He is both an incredible professor and person. He manages to make some of the most boring topics seem interesting. The class is very involved with group discussions. He gives pop quizzes but they're so easy. Definitely recommend taking him.

It's hard to imagine any improvements that could be made to Pacyga's class. For an intro class, he worked his way up to the complicated stuff slowly so that Philosophy can be understood by just about anyone. Gives easy 5-question quizzes. 3 exams (40 T/F w/one essay each). One caveat is that you must be a good note taker and study for the tests.

Great professor, very nice and understanding. Tests are pretty easy. If you don't come to class you'll fail. He made learning philosophy interesting by relating the concepts we learned to the stories he told. He also believes textbooks are a scam and a waste of money, especially for intro classes. Pop quizzes are easy & good incentive to show up.

I took Age of Reason and its Legacy with Pacyga. He's very easy going, but you will have to pay attention and attend all the classes as he loves his pop quizzes. He's got a good sense of humor, a questioning overtone (as any philosophy teacher should be) and he's overall one of the more lively professors I've had.

Amazing teacher and overall person. He loves to imagine things from other points of view. He'll teach you super well if you pay attention (kids who skipped class or doodled the whole time didn't do well). Super respectful and makes students feel like his equals.

The best professor I've had at Fredonia. Social and Political Philosophy is a great class and counts for a Western Civ credit. I learned so much and it was so much fun I'd take it again if I had the chance!

One of the best professors I have encountered at SUNY Fredonia. He is smart, funny, and understanding. His classes consist of 5 question t/f quizzes to make sure you attend and understand the material. His tests are a breeze for anyone with a brain. He will answer just about any question no matter how crazy or simple. Great guy.

Pacyga assigned difficult tests with finicky answers. Classes are boring, not as easy as I was told. I am already not a strong test taker, but his tests were ridiculous. I found it very annoying that he told us one time we needed to work on out writing, yet no matter what the sentence is, he always capitalized the "f" in EVERYTHING! Don't take this

Chris is a pretty awesome guy. The class topics were not always that interesting, but the way he talked about them made them interesting. He's also really clear about info. Make sure you take clear notes, it'll help you for the T/F 5 question quizzes. He's really funny and I enjoyed his class a lot.

He has such a great sense of humor and is easy to talk to. He gives a lot of definitions, which I think it vital for a better understanding of what needs to be learned. If you don't understand anything, he's always up for more explanation. Probably the least evil Philosophy teacher I've had, as he admires Aristotle. Also GREAT looking!

Really knows his stuff, but doesn't seem to be able to "dumb" it down for philosophy beginners. Spent much of the class just trying to memorize what he said so that I could at least fake some kind of understanding. Test are ok, except he purposely tries to write True False questions that seem like they could be true..which is unhelpful.
