Dr. Blum is awesome, take his class for sure. A few papers but they are only 3-4pgs double spaced. Unit tests are inline and you can use the readings and the discussion questions. HW nearly every night but its usually easy readings and questions that he never checks. Only need to skim the assigned passages to get by.

Comment:

Blum is the best. There's a lot of homework, but if you stay on track, it's manageable. The unit questions are graded on completion. Essays are relatively easy. He makes you think, and class it interesting and fun. Attendance isn't mandatory, but missing can affect your grade. Super funny guy, and cares about his students. Highly recommend!

Chris Blum is an amazing man. I had classes with him in high school and he worked so hard to prepare us for college. Procrastinate, and you will feel overwhelmed. Stay on track and the work load is not bad at all. Easy A, caring, hilarious, and plenty of extra credit. I still go to him for help with English and advice in general. Take his class!!!

Had a community based learning class with him, basically that meant he sat at the front of the class chatting with the TAs and not actually teaching. Gave 15 minutes of work for an 75 min. class. Not a terrible guy but if you actually want a teacher he's not your guy.

The classwork was easy to keep up with. He was very helpful with explaining assignments and is willing to help you. Attendance at the class was a big issue though, which needs to be focused on.

Super super easy teacher. Gives a lot of essays but most are easy As. He's really nice and helpful and doesn't give any in class tests. Questions on the readings can be done in class in groups. I'd definitely recommend!

Definitely an easy A! Work unfortunately is nonstop, but it's easy reading, a short essay, and a 4 question essay test per unit. Due dates are negotiable and papers can be rewritten. Not a lecture and listen class, but group discussions on the material. Just write the essays and take the tests and you're golden!!!

I had Dr. Blum as a senior in high school and he was seriously my favorite teacher. I couldn't wait for another chance to have him. He is so relaxed and funny, and he changed the paper deadlines and lengths for our convenience. He teaches important lessons while still being interesting. Absolutely love his class!!!

Christian is a wonderful teacher, excited about teaching and concerned about making sure his students feel connected and passionate about the material. He let us have some say in what we read in Drama, and our discussions were always very comfortable and interesting. He was a fair grader, and easy to get in contact after class.

Best english teacher Canisius has, BY FAR! He makes the classroom feel at home. Hes relaxed, understanding, funny and has the cutest smile! awesome teacher but assigns a TON of work. we had to read 8 books for an FYS class... i think thats a little much for a beginner english class. we had to write at least 5 essays, we had a midterm and final that were confusing but you got to take them home. 10 page paper also due at the end of the semester! way too much work,hescool but not worth it

Prof Blum is possibly the nicest professor at canisius. very friendly and very easy going about assignments. especially for athletes, excellent prof to take. kind of a lot of work for a 101 class (tests are take home) but you actually learn from the course. absolutely loves his work and does his best to show his class the good side of english

Blum is a great professor. We do a lot of talking and it fits with the literature we read. He does assign papers and some shorter assignments, and the research paper is long, but he is easy and flexible with you. You can rewrite anything and throws around extra credit. He grades on what you write, not how. Take Blum, He is Great!
