Somewhat difficult class. The information is very interesting and he knows his stuff, but he falls asleep during his own lectures, he makes errors on his examples and can never correct them, which prevent us from understanding them, and he said a 65% is average. It's a struggle throughout the class, but in the end, it will all work because of curve

This class is a little demanding if it is your second programming class. There were only 4 programs for the semester though. He is a good guy, fair about makeup quizzes. He does not penalize you for late turn in of programs.

Comment:

The class is actually very hard, but because of the curve, you can score poorly and still get a good grade. This encourages some students to be lazy, figuring they can get a B without any effort at all. His lectures and very informative and interesting. He knows the material inside and out, knows what to focus on and what to avoid. Good class.

I disliked this class very much. I got a 58% on the first exam & because of the curve I got a B+. That is crazy, obviously he needs to revamp his teaching style. The other exams did not show different results. He cannot program by himself, during class he made syntax errors & could'nt find them.

Okay first of all he is a perfect example of a professor with no teaching training. He sits and writes programs in class and doesn't explain how to do anything. He doesn't do the assignments before makes them up so when u go to get help he sits there for forever and tries to figure out his own assn.

Dr. Kabell is a great teacher and a great guy. He knows the subject matter inside out. And he teachers a very broad and difficult subject in clear, understandable terms. The class is challenging, however. You have to read, attend class, and study his programs/examples. But you will learn a lot.

Nice teacher. He wants you to do creative thinking, more like "story problem" questions. He doesn't always seem to have a good grasp of the material he covers. Make sure you read the text if you want to learn a lot in one of his classes.

Very easy class. Basic, basic, basic computer stuff. Vocab words: Mouse, Keyboard... Monitor. If you made it to this website without someone helping you, you will be able to pass the class with flying colors. Kabell is the KFC Colonel plus 200 lbs.
