Comment:
Being an online class, it's important to be organized. This is something I didn't feel Elsey had. Our weekly notes weren't always updated, the expectations weren't clear. Very disorganized. Do not take if you need if you need clear guidelines. Books were interesting for the most part, but i could have learned the same by picking up the books myself

This prof is very thorough and answers all questions and emails quickly. The readings are very relevant and interesting. The course is quite deep for an intro course but if you stick with it you'll really learn a lot !!

Comment:
Excessive weekly readings required outside the assigned textbook make this class very difficult. There are typically 3-4 emails a week with extra articles we are required to read. Homework assignments every week are expected to be like essays. She is unclear in her lectures and assignments. This class is more difficult than any other I've taken.

I am currently taking an online course and have found the course to be super over saturated. By giving us excessive readings (multiple textbooks), articles and videos I am finding myself not retaining any information. I would not recommend this prof. The concepts are unclear and having an in person test for an online course is not helpful.

I took her online and she was all over the place. She will assign homework and forget to attach MANDATORY links we have to study. Considering this is a 100 level introductory level course, her tests are VERY specific. I studied hard (im a third year student) and I swear there was stuff on the tests that weren't in our notebooks or lectures.

Christine is so passionate and knowledgable. She is very approachable and really caring. Unlike some professors she clearly wants her students to do well. Fair grader but make sure you do the homework every week.

Very scatterbrained, knowledgeable in her field, but unable to form a coherent string of thoughts. Jumps all over the place, managed to speak for a solid three hours every week and I didn't learn anything in the entire semester.

Course was a little scattered but still quite interesting. Sometimes the notes were hard to read, and the lectures weren't very engaging.

I took anthroplogy online with Christine, I thought that the assignments were very straight forward and the readings covered were very interesting. If you want to do well on the tests (for online) study her posts well as well as the additional readings as there are questions from both. All in all Christine is super nice and a good prof.

Christine is SO scattered. She often contradicted herself when giving explanations for assignments, which led to marks lost over silly things. Her online format is not clear. She didn't provide clear links to required readings. She tests on random details rather than theory. I am usually a great student (in 3rd year), but had a hard time keeping up

Very unclear about homework and the tests are often very specific such as "which tribe harvested this specific type of fruit" even though the course pack and class lectures focus on the basic concepts and some specific tribes and cultures.

I find that Christine's notes are very scattered. Her tests seem unrelated to the reading material and videos, and she will often request readings that do not exist in the text (i.e. page 450 out of a 200 page book). I also found that she was never available for assistance. Whenever I messaged her, she did not take time to reply.

Christine is very knowledgeable. She does tend to go off topic a little but only because she is so interested in the topic and gets a little excited. Its kinda cute actually. Her quizzes are straight forward if you study and the paper and presentation are easy. I would take another class with her.

Christine is passionate about her topic & obviously loves teaching. She is very knowledgeable & an encyclopedia of information, always providing assistance to help with the subject material. She always takes time outside of class time to facilitate my learning. I recommend her as a very good professor offering clear learning objectives.

Christine was VERY scatterbrained. She used someone else's material and often sent out 3 or 4 emails/announcements about the same issues. Figure it out the first time and THEN email us! Her comments often seemed offended, as though she couldn't put her own biases aside and be a clear-headed university prof. I learned NOTHING from this class.

Christine is a nice person, but she can be quite scatter brained at times, and go on for long periods of time on a topic that may or may not be relevant. Overall she is not a bad prof, but I won't be taking another class with her again.

Absolutely awful prof for online course - she was unable to use the system, did not use her own material or seem to have knowledge of what was going on, and it was extremely disorganized - due dates for assignment were always for different semesters, and often in different years. At least 1/3 of class dropped in first three weeks before midterm.

Nice person, not a good prof. I will never take another class with Christine. She is completely scattered, loses assignments, was sick for a couple classes and sent in another prof who was teaching another class at the same time! Very unclear, I still managed a B+ but I don't even know how she came up with that grade...
