Sister's a wild ride in the best sort of way. She's hilarious & entertaining. Even though I love philosophy, I don't care for Ancient & she made even that enjoyable. Extremely knowledgeable. Class is mostly lecture but she does let you have discussions if class is interested. Easy A if you don't forget to do assignments. Law & Morality even better!

Dr Sistare is a riot and loves, loves, loves Ancient Philosophy. She's so enthusiastic about it you can't help get excited. She uses powerpoints instead of lecture outlines which I liked because they're more colorful and fun.

There are very few classes I've regretted taking more than Individual and Society with Dr. Sistare. Her powerpoints are unclear and sloppy, the class is not engaging or interesting, and the class was either pleasant or unpleasant depending on what mood she was in, which fluctuated each time.

A smart, funny teacher; she was really interested in the subject matter and really nice if you went to her for help. (There was no real textbook. She edited and provided excerpts for everything.)

This 'Sistaire' must be different from the 'Sistare' I've studied with. She is extremely passionate about the material and one of the most helpful professors you will find. As per comments about ppts, those are for you not her!

Took ind and soc.... Such a boring class. Just reading off a PowerPoint. But she is clear in her explanations and you can access the pwpt before class to take notes on which is nice. If you're not an abstract thinker this class is gonna suck for you.

Very enthusiastic and personable. She truly does care about the material and the students. Although she does depend highly on powerpoint, she makes great effort in walking students through difficult subject matter. A teacher devoted to exploration of the material. If you are bored in one of her classes, you should rethink your field of study.

Took as an introductory philosophy class to get the requirement out of the way. Easily the worst decision of my college career. She teaches it as if it is a level 400 course and not only that but she contradicts herself daily. Horrible in all aspects, save her personality is tolerable

She couldn't even get my name right even after reading it on every assignment. Looks for boring writing skills, has unclear powerpoint, and assigns long boring readings. Her grading seems to depend on her mood.

I like her socially, but she should be teaching high-schoolers. She is absolutely lost without her powerpoint. Has only the most generic understanding of ancient philosophers with no room for interpretation. Does not appreciate creative or analytic writing. Wants Wikipedia for essays. You won't have a problem if you're a brain-dead brown noser.

Comment:
Boring power point professor. All she does, every single class, is literally read off of a power point. She assigns a large number of difficult essays and expects you to use primary sources to write them, despite the fact that the power points summarize those primary sources. She isn't mean, she is just boring, assigns busy work, and isn't helpful.

Worst prof I ever had. Very close minded to conflicting opinions and didn't like hearing any jokes of her own. Had medical problems and missed midterm but she made me take it the day I got back without studying. UNCARING AND SPITEFUL TO STUDENTS WHO DON'T AGREE WITH HER VIEWS.

Guess this is the same professor as the other one, but she is in no way a bad teacher. If you are a lazy student or don't care about learning anything, you probably won't like her. Same goes for students who only care about getting their grades but not about all the comments and notes she gives. If you want to learn and laugh a lot, take her!

Great professor; she is soooo excited about ancient philosophy and ancient history, she made what I thought would be a boring class a true experience. And, yeh, she's hilarious and looks good.
