Dr. Dunn was brilliant. He knew Canadian policy, political and aboriginal issues inside and out. Open and honest, he was a treasure and I am privileged to have attended so many of his classes when he first came to Memorial in 1989.

He is a pretty bad lecturer, he had to have known no one was listening 99% of the time. No idea what I learned, would have done worse if I wasn't in my last year. A lot of busy work. Needs to post or send slide shows, come on Chris its 2015.

Dr. Dunn really knows his stuff and covers a lot of ground in class, so don't expect to pass if you skip - he doesn't post anything online. The assignments are vague and for an intro class A LOT of work yet they're not worth much of your overall mark. TONS of reading and he lectures as though you should know all the terms he uses, nice man though.

The most boring prof I've ever taken. Literally will spend an hour reading from a novel that has nothing to do with the material. Shows up 5-10 minutes late every class. Not only was there three required books that you needed to read thoroughly, there was a recommended book that was worth 30% of the final.

Pretentious, not exactly compassionate. Rambles, makes lectures borderline unbearable. For all course work, prepare to regurgitate his opinions. Must admit however that he does make a significant amount of time available for helping his students.

I have taken multiple courses with Dr. Dunn. The comments that say he acts superior, is not compassionate, or is unhelpful are beyond absurd. Dry lectures, but incredibly knowledgable and always willing to make time for his students and to help them. He is very clear about expectations, especially in the lower level undergrad courses.

Very brilliant and knowledgable. Very fair marker on essays but material is dry and he does not make it very interesting! Having to buy 3 textbooks for the course was a bit much though

Brilliant man, awful teacher. He's very sweet, but he's scatterbrained and tends to ramble on. He goes through his slides very fast and doesn't post them online (a laptop to type the notes is a MUST). If you're taking 5 courses and have a job, the workload is too much. Had 3 comparative book reviews (10 pages each) & a midterm for a level 1 course.

Kind of a boring guy but no so bad. Seems like a sweet old man. Multiple choice on tests were hard, but if you read the text and go to class you should do well on the essay type questions. he bumped up our marks for the m.c. anyway. Found him helpful when I asked for help on our term papers.

Took this course over Distance Ed. Instructions for assignments were vague and mostly useless. Clarification often made things worse. When clarification was finally achieved, instructions were in fact nowhere near what the prof actually wanted. Too many textbooks, too little use. Often responses to questions indicated he had not read the question.

Disregard most of the comments that have been posted on here about Dr.Dunn. Anybody who thinks he is a difficult marker obviously hasn't had much experience in University. He is extremely helpful, going out of his way to help you get a good mark, and as long as you do your share of the work, an A grade is certainly achievable.

He gives a lot of readings and expects a lot from his students. He has a tendency to ramble on and talk about stuff forever. However, he does care about his students and tries to help them out as much as he can. He gives great feedback on assignments!

I didn't like how the class was conducted. He would ramble on, on one topic and then he wouldn't just completely go off track with what he was trying to say in the first place. Not my kind of prof, maybe fine for someone else. But to those who can't write notes while someone is just throwing ideas at you then don't take this course.

Great Prof, He expects alot from his students, but if you are thee to work you will enjoy his class. He is brilliant when it comes to Social Policy and Aboriginal issues. We have had varied opinions before, but He always allowed me to share my opinion. I recommend Prof Dunn to serious Political science Students.

Go to class with an open attitude and you'll be fine. If you're looking for a class which you'll breeze through without doing any work, stay away from him. Recommended for political science majors, you'll learn a lot.

Prof Dunn, Is very knowledgable in reagrds to currents issues in Canadian politics. He expects alot from his students, so if your not in the class to do work you will suffer. He dosent speak very loud and dosent use power point. So you will have to pay attention. Alot of ppl dont like him, i think hes brilliant, you just have to work hard at it.
