Avoid at all cost. She is extremely hypocritical, saying that you need to remember all of the students names in the class, yet she does not remember any of her students. Gives instructions for an assignment, and even when you follow them exactly, you receive a bad grade. If she was the last teacher at the university, I would rather transfer.

Class consisted of 3 papers, a PPT final about a paper, 5 quizzes, making a business card (easy)/networking maps & smaller assignments throughout the semester (she collects like 2). The class wasn't really difficult but you have to put in time/work for EVERYTHING. She was mostly unclear with things, especially in the papers and the group meetings.

For my networking event I went to a craft beer taste test competition. She also had a brewer come into class and talk to us about beer. While she does have these cool in class events, the tests are fairly difficult and rely heavily on the text rather than lecture. Worst assignment was multi-part analysis of Kinky Boots film. Had to watch it 5 times

Professor Devader never knows what she's talking about... Her tests are straight from the book and NOTHING you learn about in class! There isn't much work or homework but somehow you still end up with a mediocre grade...

DeVader's lectures are long and pointless. Did not use the textbook all semester until the Midterm and exam. Textbook essential for passing the exam. If you can avoid it, do not take this class with DeVader.

take her if you would like to expand your knowledge base on Kansas but other than that can talk for hours about nothing seemingly relevant to the course. However, she does know a thing or two about business cards.

Exams are basically all from the book, but her notes in class do not reflect the book. Focus on the book, and you will do fine. Film analysis is not difficult with a good group.

To do well in this class, it is important that you ACTUALLY read the textbook because DeVader does not do the best job of providing you with the material that you need to know for exams. But, she is extremely helpful when it comes time for all of the papers at the end of the semester, if you go see her about them she WILL tell you how to write them

Don't take her, simple as that. No structure to the class at all. To understand anything that is going on in class and on the exams you have to read and teach the material to yourself from the book. Everything in the class is based off of her opinion and what she has time for in her schedule. If you want no preparation or information take her class

The material for this class is all common sense but the tests are designed to confuse you, and they do. Everyone failed the first test because it was all on book material and nothing we talked about in class. (her happy hour plans, halloween costumes, and lots of other mgmt topics) One day she even showed us pictures from her Facebook for 25 mins.

DeVader stood in front of my class and yelled at us for failing the test and not knowing any material and then proceeded to show a movie about micro breweries the entire class period. You know, because management principles. But wait, theres more! The next class she had an actual person from a brewery come in and talk to us about nothing relatable.

Comment:
This class is taught by a delusion, self-righteous, and disrespectful woman named Christy DeVader. She's the worst professor I've ever had here. This is a class that should be somewhat challenging but not one where you struggle to get a B. She will stand in front of the class and talk about some garbage for an hour and test only on book material.

Christy's ability to drone on in order to fill the class period is the only impressive thing about her class. Christy is the perfect example of how tenure rewards incompetence rather than excellence. If you want a real life example of the saying "those who can't do teach" every Tuesday and Thursday for an hour and fifteen minutes look no further.

Motivated, helpful, caring and challenging in a very good way. Every assignment is something that can be used in the real world, so the work you put in benefits you far beyond a grade. Quite a few assignments, but the work pays off, and she makes everything think about themselves in a critical way in order to improve each person. Good class.

Dr. DeVader does have favorites. Just participate and you will be one of them! The class is easy, writing assignments are purely opinionated, but once you find out her opinions just make your paper like she woud. 30 page film analysis is a pain in the ass, get a 5 person group it will be to your benefit!

The course agenda undoubtedly contained ulterior, underlying, feminist motives (confirmed by female students as well). She does not accept constructive criticism well and will publically attack you in class and privately affect your grade. She is disorganized and the material is common sense. The work is a mindless waste of valuable time.

Informative class with real world applications. DeVader knows what shes talking about. Dont let the 97% for an A scare you. If you do the work, you should be able to do it. Take advantage of the extra credit. Focus on your Resume, Cases (do 5, get mostly 12/12s) & Diversity!
