Insulting, has his notes for lecture, asks a question and your answer better be what he has or your wrong. Calls on everyone randomly so read whats assigned. Good bit of work but spaced out. Take another elective, nothing gained here.

Interesting Class overall, he uses alot of real world examples but can get hung up on sidebar topics. Expect to be randomly called on and participation is about 20% grade. 3 cases studies, in class mid-term and take home final. Easy grader. No textbooks, required to purchase HBS articles.

Has no idea how to teach. Lacks any clarity and focus. Often times gets so hung up with an off-base question, the topics are never discussed.

Not recommended. Self-advertises way too much. No structure in lectures. Tests vague, grading system too subjective. Better options out there.

Made the class interesting. Don't need to buy the Financial Times, you can go online for the articles. No book was nice, only had to buy $60 worth of Harvard Business Review articles.

If you can take him, take him. He is probably the best teacher at Loyola. He is fair & understanding. He will work with you if you have other commitments, ect. Plus he knows his stuff. Show an interest in class and you will get an A easily.

Fairly easy class but you still learn a lot. He is passionate about the topic and has a lot of relevant personal experiences to share. Don't need to subscribe to Financial Times -just get articles from website. Likes to call on people at random though during class discussion. Easy grader on papers.

This class was unbelievably easy missed like 5 classes through the semester never study for test and still got an A. Def take anything he teaches you can make up your own deadlines for things and tell him thats what he said.

Absolutely knows his stuff. You'll learn a ton from this guy. He's worked in the "Real World" which is a critical differentiator when you're taking a global business course. While lectures tend to go in unintended directions, there are no trivial digressions. This is complicated stuff and there simply is no way to cover it all in 10 weeks!

Global Competitiveness -based off of Michael Porter class. Buy the casebook, text isn't touched. Case discussion was good, but Unger will call on people randomly. Participation was 50% of grade but say 1 or 2 things a class and you'll be fine. Large group project is the other 50% - make it easy on yourself and pick something well known. Easy grader

Likes to think he's john houseman in the Paper Chase, down to the seating chart and the random firing of questions. Not to worry; he's not nearly as scary as Prof. Kingsfield. Watch the Paper Chase, do the readings, read a newspaper once a week or so, and you'll do fine.

This was a great class. Current event discussion, couple of case write-ups and a group project. He usually requires a subscription to the Financial Times. You can skip this and go to the ft.com website and get articles

Extremely nice, very smart, great topic, uses multi media to teach. 2 exams, participation is KEY, recommends great outside reading newpaper, Financial Times, is well traveled and educated. Very Interesting can be hard to follow if you are don't read text and know your vocabulary

He's a nice guy, but the material is boring. Does not teach the international management concepts well at all. Midterm is easy, he passes out a study guide. Final is take home, and more thought based, but still easy. Don't sign up for the newspaper, it's a waste money. Just print out an article on trade before class and be ready to discuss it.

Horrible. Unfortunately, you will learn very little. He offers nothing in addition to the text. He can not lead a discussion which is bad for a class like this. The subject is pretty easy and the tests are not too difficult, but they are very vague questions. How can one objectively grade answers when the questions are asking for opinions?

You will have to listen to his stories, and he is certainly very excited about the topic. You are required to buy a newspaper subscription to the Financial Times. Class is interesting and turned out to be better than expected. Grading was not consistent, but I would take another of his classes.

Globalization could be an interesting/useful course-this one is not. You will waste money on a text that you don't need, then have classes that don't exactly follow. The professor has a cache of real world experience, he should mix it with case studies.

Something of an absentminded professor, but his experience and knowledge make it worth putting up with the occasional tongue-tiedness. Calls on students at random, which is annoying.
