Teaches only by using examples. And if you do not attend class you will not understand anything. Teaches easy material in class and then tests you on stuff that she never covered.

Cindy is an incredible professor who goes out of her way to make sure her students understand the material taught about in class. From scheduling hours to meet outside of her regular office hours or responding to emails regularly, she's always ready and willing to offer extra help to aid in your success as long as you are willing to do the work.

-Hasn't corrected any assignments yet this semester -Doesn't have office hours and is very difficult to communicate with to schedule any -Refuses to answer emails on weekends or after dinner -Class is a 20 minute lecture followed by her walking around helping people who don't get it, leaving you sit there for an hour with nothing to do

Class was a total bore. She assigned these random annoying assignments at the last minute leaving a few days to complete them. The course is extremely easy but most of it is centered around participation and a group paper and presentation (about 70%). The class felt like a waste of time and she didn't make it any better.

Terrible prof. Contradicts herself so much its not even funny. Gives terrible examples, and half of her explanations don't even make sense. Talks to her students like they are in early high school, and treats them that way as well. Not hard of a class, but you definitely don't enjoy going

Majority of mark was based on chapter summaries, group essays (you think doing an essay by yourself is tough), and in-class assignments. Easy to get good marks, but the amount of reliance on participation is frustrating. Every class you had to find someone "new" to talk to... Midterm and Final are not worth much in comparison to everything else.

The worst prof I have ever had in my life. She is condescending and rude to her students, she assigns unfathomably stupid things like writing essays in a group with four other students, and her incredibly misleading explanation of the rules of a particular assignment lead many people to fail that assignment. Avoid at all costs.

prof took NO interest in explaining things, teaching, giving examples. Miserable mid-term - worse final. Book worse than useless if you don't have a good background in math and have 20+ hrs per week to puzzle things out. AVOID!!! Take this course with ANY other prof!!

Though I understand she was called in due to an early retirement; class was painful. Boring powerpoint lectures. Tests were open-book, but all tests and assignments were on computer, making work more difficult than ordinary. Final project was incredibly hard and mostly unrelated to topics learned. Required course, but avoid prof if possible.

Overall course was good ... fairly easy open book tests, but challenging group assignments (using Access, Excel, FrontPage etc.) Great professor, very caring and will explain things until you understand. Attendance is not mandatory; however, as with most courses, you will understand the material much better if you attend!

I liked her. She even told me to stop by her office one day to help me fix my computer!! I was thrilled to learn comp sci from someone, not only willing to teach me how to use the programs on my machine, but also willing to teach me to keep it working at its best! Respect her, and she will respect you.
