I've taken two classes with Dr. Vitto and I truly enjoyed both. She is very kind, helpful and friendly, which makes class much more enjoyable. She is always available to help students outside of class, as well.

Comment:

American English Grammar is a tough class. You need to make sure you do every single practice she gives, and you need to spend a good 1-2 hours a day going over notes and making flash cards to study. With that said, Dr. Vitto is the best professor I have had at Rowan. She truly cares about every student and wants everyone to succeed.

American English Grammar- an intimidating course to enroll for. If you participate in class, do the Black Board posts, and find a good tutor, you will succeed. I suggest finding a tutor within the first week of class & using flashcards. I purchased both textbooks and I did not use either one. Save your money and do the practice sheets given to you.

Dr. Vitto is literally the best professor I have ever had for such a challenging course! She is so caring, kind, and passionate about Grammar. When it comes to making sure you understand everything, Dr. Vitto answers EVERY question anyone might have and no question is dumb in her class. She is funny and genuinely cares for ALL of her students!

I love Dr. Vitto so much. She truly cares about her students and is so understanding. Her love for Shakespeare was without question and it made the class both fun and insightful. It is possible to learn and retain knowledge without being overly stressed out by a work load. As a professor, she takes as much out of her class as the student does.

I had Dr. Vitto for American English Grammar, and she was awesome. She wrote the textbook, so she was definitely competent in the subject matter. She provided many opportunities for her students to practice the concepts. If you desire to learn about grammar, Vitto is one of the best. The information can be difficult, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Although I ended up dropping the only class I took with Dr. Vitto, I knew her to be a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, & fair-minded professor who believed in bureaucratic transparency. She was also my advisor and she went to bat for me when needed.

What I liked best about her was that she was very open to feedback from her student on how to improve the class; something I only see from the best lit professors. Class was your basic English fare-read, take quizzes, discuss, write papers. My only complaint was I wish we could have delved deeper into the readings but there is only so much time.

the subject is what is really hard; not the professor. she is an awesome and fair teacher who keeps u motivated through a lot of challenging material. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN! i was very intimidated about the class and started out a bit rough, but i ended up with an A- in the end...after working extremely hard!

Awesome person and professor! She took over for a professor who took a leave of absence, and I wish I had had her the whole time! Her tests are fair, and she prepares you well for them. Take her if you have the chance! I loved her.

very disapointed in this teacher,she would assign a paper, let you pick topic than ask each student what their topic is and tell you which angle to take when you write the paper.Tells students what to focus on, who is writing the paper you or her???Students are not allowed to have an opinion of thier own, do not take this professor...

She was absolutely one of the best teachers I had at Rowan. I learned so much in that semester-long grammar class. I studied hard and ended up with an A -- she keeps the class motivated and interested in a very dry, dull subject matter. Loved her!
